Open to life

Make your spiritual practice a purposeful aspect of your daily experience.

“To stay present in everyday life, it helps to be deeply rooted within yourself; otherwise, the mind, which has incredible momentum, will drag you along like a wild river.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

It’s easy to be Zen when sitting in meditation, spending quiet moments in nature or surrounding yourself with people whose beliefs completely align with yours. It’s a bit more challenging to remain in a state of peace when facing someone in the grip of anger, dealing with the intensity of modern life or when finding yourself triggered by things you had thought long healed.

Our spiritual journey is accelerated when we bring a sense of inner awareness and consciousness into whatever the present moment has to offer. Rather than only setting aside specific moments for your enlightenment, scatter them all throughout your day. View consciousness as important as breathing until it becomes second nature. These moments of deep connection align you with the miraculous beauty of life.

Periodically look around you and choose to fall in love. Look within and honor yourself and your expression of the Divine as sacred. Open the crown chakra to receive the love, light and laughter of the Universe.  You are the bridge between the physical world and the infinite. Seeing this clearly is enlightenment.

Today my intention is to honor this moment as sacred.

The highest good

Your purpose is to awaken.

“Good fortune is arbitrary, and certainly nothing we can rely on – yet we still cling to the belief that it’s our right that things always go our way.”
~Ezra Bayda~

I often use the term highest good when seeking clarity regarding life situations. Most people assume that highest good means joyful or easy; however, since the soul desires to awaken, it will sometimes choose to walk directly into karmic situations specifically for the growth that is accelerated by the struggle.

What many don’t remember, when in the midst of a challenge, is that happiness is the natural by-product of higher consciousness. The temporary discomfort we experience awakens our strength and resilience and sets us on a journey of self-discovery. The awakened soul eventually achieves a state of inner mastery which provides a sense of empowerment and peace, no matter what the circumstance.
The slow transformative path to freedom requires that we open to life. Embrace the things that seem to block your way to love and shine the light of consciousness upon them. Your soul knows exactly what it is doing.

Today my intention is to live in a world of wonder. I am willing to allow the universe to surprise me.

Be a light in the darkness

As you awaken, the world around you is transformed.

“Using whatever skills you have, whatever you have learned from you own life experience, it is time to express yourself.”
~Osho~

You do not have to be angry to create a movement of change in your experience. Empowerment comes from offering the gift of understanding to all those with whom you come in contact. Through your spiritual maturity, you will enrich your own life as well as the lives of others.

You have the opportunity to share your love, light and laughter. Choose to be a light in the darkness. When many seem trapped in webs created by anger and judgment, you can demonstrate forgiveness, consciousness and grace. Any actions you choose to take will be informed by this higher energy, supported by the power of love.

When you act with conscious intent, it sends ripples of energy outward. Some may feel supported and inspired by you while others react with resistance. Either way, your light is transforming the world.

Today my intention is to create a world that is playful, loving and expansive.

Healthy relationships

Be grateful to those who grace your life with their presence.

“Spiritual practice is about increasingly entering into love – not personal love, but the love that is the nature of our being.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Every person that enters your life plays a unique role in your awakening; therefore, honor their spirit by learning from the interaction. Rather than wishing someone were different, choose to accept them as they are. This creates a safe space which allows protective mechanisms to disengage so that authentic connection and communication can occur.

Healthy relationships allow each person to thrive while exploring who they are in the presence of another. Ram Dass  once said, “We’re all just walking each other home.” Whether we grace someone’s life for a moment or for a lifetime, there is deeper purpose and meaning than often appears at first glance.
Seek only to love. Sometimes love calls upon us to listen, let go, dance or dream. Bring an unprotected heart to your meeting place and open to what is. Something new is waiting to be discovered.

Today my intention is to expect my life to be joyous and fulfilling.

All that you seek is within you

Do you see yourself as a miracle?

“Existence is enough unto itself. Inquire into your relationship with existence, and out of that inquiry trust arises – not belief, not faith. Trust has a beauty because it is your experience. Trust will help you to relax because the whole existence is taking care – there is no need to be worried and to be concerned.”
~Osho~

When you choose to become One With Life, you bring a sense of stillness and connection into your experience. Step outside into the limitless possibility of a brand new day. Watch how existence interacts with itself. A tapestry of exquisite design is being created and everything flows together in a way that creates support and balance.

You are an integral part of the masterpiece of the Divine. Begin where you are and see what unfolds when you say “Yes” to life and to your own potential. Allow trust to be your foundation as you explore the nuances of existence.

Darkness is our own creation. Limitation, fear and doubt are mind-made prisons. Fortunately, the door is wide open. You can choose to step across the threshold into a world filled with freedom, joy and exploration. Let your light guide you…

Today my intention is to be at ease with the unknown. I open my heart to the this moment and all the miracles it has to offer.

Your unique gifts

You have something unique to offer.

“Life can only be known through participation. Don’t be a spectator. The whole modern world has become just a spectator, a crowd of lookers-on. The spectator is the poorest man in the world. Participate.”
~Osho~

Is your life a celebration or a sadness? Are you living or waiting? It’s time to become aware that you have much to offer. Rather than attempting to determine what you think others may want from you, be your authentic self. Those who have drawn you into their experience seek the unique gifts that only your soul can bring.

The world becomes very interesting when we appreciate its many contrasts and differences. Nuanced shadows dance by moonlight. Laughter explodes from children at play. Empathy brings out the best in us when we feel for one another. Participate in whatever life has to offer and choose to experience it fully. This is your freedom. A world of possibility is open to you and there is much to explore.
Today my intention is to keep my view life-centered rather than self-centered. I am grateful for this moment.

Releasing blame

Each of us is responsible for our own joy.

“Real joy is often just a quiet presence in the moment.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Empowerment is about taking responsibility for whatever unfolds in our experience. Everything is a reflection of our inner state of consciousness; therefore, it’s important to pay attention to what we create. Without judgment, honor whatever arises as perfect. When things feel in disarray, see it as an opportunity to cultivate inner mastery.

Releasing blame creates freedom. We are no longer trapped by circumstance and discover how to recognize the infinite potential that is available to us. New insights and new ways of looking at the world are available to you now. Begin within.

Today my intention is to release all control to the universe. I am at peace with myself and with life.

Live with a sense of wonder

Step into this moment. Breathe. Be open to life.

“Being truly present allows us to appreciate the sweetness of the moment even when the moment isn’t conventionally sweet, because, at least momentarily, we’re not under the sway of the heaviness of our beliefs. The results are a lightness of being, and a sense of inner freedom.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Have you ever been overwhelmed by a beautiful day? Have you allowed yourself to sit and just be, appreciated the breeze as it touched your skin or loved a moment of stillness in the midst of a busy world? That is reality. That sense of wonder which connects you to life is available in every situation. Underneath the chaos of the mind lies an eternal reservoir of grace that you can drink from anytime you wish.

The light of your consciousness transforms whatever it shines upon. Periodically take a moment to bring your attention to the Now and reside fully within it. Even the most mundane aspects of life will sparkle with brilliance and you will be able to recognize the sacredness of your own divinity.

This moment provides a wonderful new opportunity to see yourself clearly. Bask in the radiance of the light which shines through you.
Today my intention is to inhale the precious breath of life and allow my mind, body and spirit to relax.

The measure of success

All that you see is a reflection of your own state of consciousness.
“Contentment alone is enough. Indeed the bliss of eternity can be found in your contentment.”
~Lao Tzu~
Success is measured by the amount of peace we experience. If you feel that anything is missing in your life, shift your thoughts around that topic. Be prepared for everything to change the moment you choose to be fulfilled rather than dwelling upon the idea of lack. Enlightenment is simply taking full responsibility for your state of consciousness in this moment.

Make a conscious effort to choose grace, no matter what unfolds. In the midst of challenge, heartbreak or upheaval, seek the gift, the lesson or the opportunity to be kind. Know that your energy and intention can transform any circumstance into empowerment and growth.

Set aside some time today to send love and gratitude to those who challenge you the most. Know that you can break free from the cyclic experiences of frustration and anger by purposely choosing to approach the situation from a higher level of consciousness. As we change, the world around us is transformed.
Today my intention is to remember that spiritual practice is about opening to life. In any situation, I can ask “What do I have to offer?”

Soul expressed love

As long as there is one person you can’t forgive, there is work to be done.

“Real love comes not from trying to solve our neediness by depending on another, but by developing our own inner richness and maturity.”
~Osho~

Allow yourself to be receptive and open to the infinite joy of the Universe. Quieting the mind creates a delicate experience that is unique and connects you to the heart. From there, you can move into the world, taking a sense of inner harmony and peacefulness.

The higher your state of consciousness, the simpler life becomes. Many enlightened beings are considered simple and childlike. They have released attachment and choose instead to love what is. This creates an unshakeable harmony with life, with oneself and with the Divine.

Know that your life is unfolding exactly as it should. Seek the stillness within the present moment and choose to bring that harmony and empowerment into your life experience. The stronger the person, the easier it is to move into surrender and acceptance. Recognize the love that resides at the core of everything.
Today my intention is to enter the realm of infinite potential.
