The Power of Stillness

“When you enter a place of stillness, you awaken the divinity within you.”

~Peggy Sealfon~

These are extraordinary times and you are an extraordinary being. It’s important to remember that you will always benefit from re-balancing your energy with moments of quietude and mindfulness. In this space of awareness we have the opportunity to touch ancient wisdom.

When aligned with your true nature, you’ll discover that there is nothing to fight. There is only love. In compassion, we can meet one another in the field of form. In kindness, we have the strength to extend a hand and lift someone from the throes of darkness. Our words of hope plant seeds that can transform the consciousness of those with whom we come into contract.

It’s important to consider that you have chosen to be here in this time and space for a specific reason. Your unique perception and abilities are integral aspects of the tapestry we weave together. The lessons you learn or facilitate in others shape the rising consciousness of humanity. Together we can discover how to see past the limitations of the mind and step into infinite possibility.

Enter Into Stillness

“Whenever you deeply accept this moment as it is — no matter what form it takes — you are still, you are at peace.”

~Eckhart Tolle~

This moment is the gateway to enlightenment. In the midst of hyperbole and distraction lies an infinite well of peace from which you can drink. Honor your journey as sacred by drinking deeply of the love, light and laughter of the universe.

Periodically choose to detach from worldly limitation and enter into the stillness of infinite possibility. Within the gap between words, breaths, heartbeats or movement we can catch a glimpse of  life’s limitless potential. There is no need to fill it that silence with analytical thought or action. Just be present. Your conscious awareness activates inner wisdom and peace.

Some call this the space of no mind. Detachment allows us to observe all that unfolds with greater clarity. From the vantage point of awareness, you may discover greater compassion, especially for those who are momentarily caught in the mechanisms of the mind. Your light is transformative, not only for yourself, but also for those around you.

Engage life’s magic through stillness. Consciousness seeks to experience itself through you. When distractions are removed, what remains? Love.

Intuition

In a world filled with overwhelming sensations and distractions, the ego-mind has cultivated a collective script that results in continued conflict and dysfunction. As we awaken, we begin to break free from the overwhelming cacophony to once again enter the stillness of being.

In that space of stillness, we can access our inner wisdom. Rather than being reactive, we are able to consciously respond to life from a higher level of consciousness. Our ability to slow down and go within creates a secure foundation which supports our journey of awakening.

Strengthen the intuitive aspect of your experience by trusting your instincts. When the voice of ego begins its repetitive mantra of fearful “what ifs?” simply recognize it, observe it and slow down. Ask how you can bring light, kindness or compassion to the situation. Most often you’ll discover that the voice of your heart directs you to do the exact opposite of what the ego insists is the right course of action. Acting on your instincts builds a pathway of energy that grows stronger over time.

The great miracle of awareness is that it transforms the mundane into the sacred. There is much more to life than meets the eye.

Turning Inward

“No matter how you may be feeling, simply sit down, experience the texture of what is happening in your body and mind – and then just let it be.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Once you develop conscious awareness of the ego, it is easier to observe its antics. Like watching ripples on a pond or a tangle of traffic, it becomes almost amusing to witness as it tries various ways of pulling you into the games of the mind.

Contentment is possible in the present moment – indeed that’s the only place where it can ever be found. Stop where you are, close your eyes, breathe and be present. Allow the fullness of life to be experienced as you turn inward.

Many people run from one thing to the next – physically, verbally, mentally – and it can be exhausting, not only for them but for those around them. But once the peace of stillness is discovered, we can immerse ourselves totally in the moment and bring Presence in to whatever we choose to do.

Develop the art of stillness and then purposely infuse that high-vibration energy into every interaction. Observe the antics of the mind, smile and know that you are a source of peace.

Love and Understanding

“We’re fascinated by the words–but where we meet is in the silence behind them.”

~Ram Dass~

Compassion and understanding are the side effects of conscious listening. Whenever you choose to bring an open heart to your meeting place, you create an opportunity to learn something new. In this space of awareness, you’ll discover an alternative viewpoint, garner understanding of others’ challenges or fears and have a greater opportunity to move into love.Love and judgment cannot coexist in the same space. Look upon yourself with compassion. Look upon others with compassion. Seek only to bring the best version of yourself to your life experiences. This is even more important within the workings of the mind. Every thought sends energy out into the universe. Purposely send kindness whenever possible… and as the Dalai Lama says, “It is always possible.”

Consciousness is rooted in the deep stillness of your being. It expands your energy to touch the Divine, provides clarity and brings understanding, not through the mechanisms of the mind, but through harmony with the pulse of life itself. See yourself as the observer who acts and loves and holds space while cultivating the art of detached compassion – for yourself, for those who grace your life with their presence and for the world.

Miracles in the Stillness

“To understand the immeasurable, the mind must be extraordinarily quiet, still.”
~J. Krishnamurti~
Within the stillness lies unlimited possibility. When we can quiet the ravages of the mind, we discover that the present moment is filled with countless little gifts. Enter the gap by being very gentle, very receptive. Awareness seeks to experience itself through you.
Gaze at the clouds as they move across the sky. Notice how the shadows change. Hear the calls of birds in flight. The canvas of life is constantly in motion, each movement effortlessly creating a new work of art to appreciate. Even as I write these words, I find myself enjoying the candlelight as it flickers on my altar of friendship.
By bringing a gentle awareness into the Now, you will be more able to recognize the sacred in everyone and everything. As you continue to awaken, the veils of illusion which have clouded your perception begin to separate and ultimately dissolve into faint memory. The time has come to step into awareness of your true nature and walk forward with wonder. At the deepest core of our being we are the observers, witnesses of the miracle of existence. From this space of awareness we can engage with the spark of life and love that resides within us.

Now

“Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

Practice listening. Observe without mentally labeling what you see. Choose to experience the sacred energy which flows through all life. It sounds simple, but active listening and observation call upon us to break free of thousands of years of human conditioning. When you strip away the cacophony, love is speaking through the stillness.

We have a role to play in the transformation of our collective consciousness. The moment you choose to approach situations differently, you create an opportunity for growth. This can only be accomplished by being present. If your mind is elsewhere – worrying about the future or carrying the past – you’ll be too distracted to see clearly.

Each of us is responsible for our own state of consciousness. In this moment, how peaceful are you? Resistance creates anxiety while acceptance opens us to receive grace. Cultivate your ability to accept what is and respond to life with inner awareness. Enlightenment is not something that you’ll experience at some point in the future. It is here Now.

You Are A Beautiful Mystery

“Life is an adventure. Invite constant adventures, and whenever a call comes from the unknown, listen to it. Risk all and go into the unknown, because this is the only way to live at the maximum.”
~Osho~

You are an infinite being, a beautiful mystery. There are endless facets for you to explore, worlds to experience, levels of consciousness to discover. The role that you play in this lifetime is simply that – a role that is utilized as just another way for you explore the contrasts and perceived separation this planet has to offer.
When you quiet the mind, it becomes possible to merge with the energies of the sky, a tree, the ocean or music. Allow yourself to enter the realms of limitless possibility, if only for a moment. Visualize that each breath you take draws in the love, light and laughter of the Universe while each exhale causes the barriers of the mind to dissipate.
Just be. Explore Oneness with the world around you. The more expansive your vision, the more able you’ll be to see beyond the roles and limited perception of others.

Enjoy, Simplify, Love, Be

“If you are simple deeply simple in yourself you will discover something extraordinary.”
~Jiddu Krishnamurti~

Sometimes life’s beauty gets lost in the details of being too busy. We run from one problem to the next, always searching for something to fix. This is not to say that we should ignore life’s challenges, but the key to happiness is in how we approach them.

There are many ways to bring joy into your experience. Appreciation adds flavor and texture to the journey. Within the souls desire to awaken there is a spark of love that seeks expression. Quiet the mind and go deeply into the Now. Be present with what is. In the stillness we can tap into the heartbeat of sacred mother earth.

What you place your focus upon grows stronger in your life; therefore, be mindful of how you utilize your energy. See if you can enjoy the dance within the flow between the sacred and the mundane. Your unique physical experience ultimately facilitates the awareness that is arising within you.

Approach life with a sense of wonder and for you, life will be transformed into something magical, extraordinary. This expanded perception adds something beautiful into the world.

What We Create

This moment is precious. As I stepped outside for my Gratitude Walk, I was greeted by the stillness of a cloudy, quiet morning. I watched as the sky lightened and felt the living texture of infinite possibility that awaits my discovery. This feeling and openness creates a peaceful and powerful flow of energy. It is one that I purposely seek often and it sets the tone for my daily experience.

The only thing that exists is the Now – don’t allow yourself to destroy its potential by the worry created by the shadows of the mind. See yourself walking forward in joy and expectation and simply take one more step. Fear dissipates through conscious action – we discover new things, gain greater clarity and cultivate the discernment which allows us to see through the stories of the ego.

Find your inspiration and in the stillness, connect to the Universe. Seek out people and moments which resonate with this infinite connection and come home to yourself. The energy of the Divine is yours to experience in any way that you wish. In a changeable world filled with limitless nuances to discover, this connection remains constant. Once you quiet the old patterns of thought and release the stories of the past, you may recognize how to create transformation in your life – the answer is often right there in front of you.
