Personal Responsibility

“If you understand it, the world is a great device to make you conscious. Your enemy is your friend, and the curses are blessings, and the misfortunes can be turned into fortunes. It depends only on one thing: if you know the key of awareness.”
~Osho

Honor yourself as an awakening aspect of the Divine. When a teacher is needed, one will appear to assist or pivot you into a new direction. Otherwise, each day is up to you. Find your own style of connection and flow your intention and energy into every moment. If something is not bringing you movement forward, understand that it may be time for exploration. Allow yourself the opportunity to connect with the strength of who you truly are.

The true power of spiritual awakening resides in finding one’s own truth through personal experience. There are many paths of enlightenment. In this infinite Universe, there is room for you to be uniquely you – an expression of the infinite in physical form.

Once we take responsibility for our own state of consciousness, we begin to realize that what we have considered to be “reality” is merely a reflection of how we see the world, what we expect, what we believe or what we fear. When we choose to surrender to a situation, stop trying to force those around us to change and go within for the answers, we begin to heal.

Open Mind, Open Heart

“Until the mind is open, the heart stays closed. The open mind is the key to the open heart.”
~Byron Katie~

When you open your heart in the midst of life, miraculous things happen. Many fear vulnerability; however, it is a necessary component of spiritual growth. Life is a mystery to be lived, not a job to be managed or a game to win. Our life experiences teach simultaneously on several levels and as you integrate the new energy of your discoveries, results are seen within your mind, body and spirit.

Open your heart to the mystery. Allow your light to shine and respond to the present moment from a space of confidence and balance. Empowerment comes from taking little trips into uncharted areas while expanding your perception and understanding.

Spiritual awakening is a process so it’s important to be patient with yourself. Often changes are happening just under the surface and they manifest into your reality all at once. The openness and willingness to flow with what is will prepare you to step into this new dimension when the opportunity arises. All the seeds you have planted come to fruition in their own perfect time.

Weaving Joy Into Your Experience

“Laughter is wine for the soul – laughter soft, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness – the hilarious declaration made by man that life is worth living.”
~Sean O’Casey~
Joy is infectious. It sparks change throughout your journey and creates a filter of absurdity through which you can interpret life. Weave joy into your experience in ways that speak to your soul. When we choose to find joy in the little things, we begin to notice how many opportunities we have each day to simply smile and say “Thank you.”
It is absolutely possible to face challenges with courage and resolve, yet still find ways to embrace joy. Don’t wait for everything to fall into place before you celebrate your existence. Life is calling your name. This moment, this step, this breath is sacred. May your heart be open to the mundane as well as the mysterious.
You are loved more than you can possibly imagine. It rains down upon you from all dimensions. Can you feel it?

New Adventures

“We should come home from adventures, and perils, and discoveries every day with new experience and character.”
~Henry David Thoreau~
There is something quite beautiful about living a life of discovery. Exploring new books, artistry, friendships and places allows us to discover new aspects of ourselves. The dance of awakening is revealed through experience.

It’s easy to get lost in the routine of our lives, to stay on familiar paths and seek out those who support us in our beliefs… but life is an adventure to be lived. You can choose to experience this moment with conscious intention, constantly dropping the past and seeking the gifts that await discovery.

If your situation is not one that allows you to expand into new friendships and circumstances each day, use the beauty of old friendships as best you can – learning together, trying new things and allowing room for change.

The ability to find serenity, peace and comfort in the midst of change is a wonderful skill to cultivate. Invite new adventures into your life and heed the call of the unknown.

Silence

“When you go in, you touch a new type of silence – the presence of silence itself. It is not only an absence of noise, it is something absolutely positive, almost visible, tangible.”
~Osho~

Pay attention to the gap – between words, musical notes, thoughts – for it contains worlds of possibility.

True silence exists within you. More than the absence of thought, it is the deep and profound stillness that holds the seeds of infinite possibility. Spend some time today listening to that silence. Slow down and pay attention to the space in between your heartbeats. Active listening puts you in touch with the present moment in way that is profound, almost magical.

You are a powerful co-creator in your experience and you have the opportunity to determine how you will fill those spaces. Leave a little room for stillness, kindness, fulfillment and gratitude. This moment is beautiful and poignant. When you immerse yourself within it, it becomes apparent that all you need is already here. Cease striving for a particular end result. Instead, find the completeness in the Now. Whatever you choose to do, however you choose to feel, do it completely and patiently. This immersion will bring about transcendence.

Releasing Limitation

“What we repeatedly visualize changes our body and consciousness. Visualize freedom and compassion.”
~Jack Kornfield~
We have an opportunity for expansive growth in this moment. By choosing not to be offended by anyone or anything, by releasing hurt and resentment, by rising above the mechanisms of the mind, we create space in which a transformation can occur.
Set yourself free from all fear and limitation. Recognize that your interpretation of the world is a reflection of your own level of consciousness and be willing to learn from any challenges that arise. Everything serves a specific purpose on your journey of discovery.
I am forever grateful and humbled when circumstances show me ways in which I limit myself. As a lifetime student of love, I am willing to explore its nuances no matter how they are presented. The willingness to release judgment and move into acceptance is a lifelong process.
The more consciousness you bring to a situation, the more you’ll be able to recognize the inherent possibilities contained within it. The awakening spirit is simply willing to explore the unknown rather than continuing to repeat old patterns. You can choose to see life as an adventure while exploring the many facets of love.

Your Divine Purpose

“Successful is the person who has lived well, laughed often and loved much, who has gained the respect of children, who leaves the world better than they found it, who has never lacked appreciation for the earth’s beauty, who never fails to look for the best in others or give the best of themselves.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
You have a divine purpose and are now called upon to follow your hearts passion. Old souls often feel that they don’t fit in and that can sometimes be challenging; however, that uniqueness is a gift. You’ll find empowerment when you unplug from mass consciousness and release any beliefs, expectations or thoughts that do not support your spiritual journey. It becomes easier to live your truth when you are aligned with your soul’s purpose.
Those who discover their unique way of being in the world are an inspiration. Old souls teach by example through the sharing of their gifts. Embrace the challenges that have helped you to discover your strengths and know that you are right where you need to be. As you awaken, you’ll discover new ways of being aligned with your truth and will respond differently to the events of your life.
Certainly there can be times when the ego gets a foothold and we temporarily forget our divinity – this too, is part of the human experience and is a vital aspect of developing the art of compassion. By healing ourselves, we learn how to see through unconsciousness, rise above reactivity and connect soul to soul in the present moment. Never underestimate the power of acceptance and kindness.

Awareness

“Life is a dance. Mindfulness is witnessing that dance.”
~Amit Ray~

There are many who are still unconscious. They sleep deeply within the grip of illusion and struggle to find meaning in their lives. You have chosen to walk the Earth at this time for a specific purpose and play an integral part in the awakening of our collective consciousness.

Bring your loving awareness to each moment as best way that you can. This may be as subtle as being a quiet source of Presence or as expansive as conscious action inspired by your inner wisdom. When you are balanced, purposeful and empowered, your actions (or inaction) will have greater impact. You are weaving the tapestry of your existence, and as you release the old patterns that no longer serve you, new patterns emerge. They are born of your experiences, but not limited by them.

The purpose of life is to become awake to our true nature – discovering that we are part of the vast mystery residing in a space of infinite possibility. When we choose to see the physical experience as a series of opportunities to discover that truth, obstacles transmute into wisdom. Limitation becomes laughter and we walk in harmony with life itself.

Embrace Your True Nature

“The full moon appears at night with all its might and erases all the stars from the sky! Do the same to impress the world, stand in front of the world with all your strength and all your being!”
~Mehmet Murat Ildan~
Seek only to raise your own consciousness and expand into greater insight and awareness. With consistent effort and intention, you can release all judgement and simply live in harmony with your true nature.
The ego constantly seeks to compare, feeding off the energy of being better than another or worse than another. Richer or poorer, satisfied or dissatisfied, heavy or slender, healthy or ill, the mind never ceases with it’s judgment and creates a sense of dissatisfaction no matter what the circumstance.
The awakened spirit learns to rise above ego-generated feelings of inferiority or superiority. Be recognizing the sacredness of each unique journey, it never compares and harmony with the Self is possible. It is time to embrace your uniqueness and release any self-imposed suffering.
There is an inner grace and fulfillment that arises through living authentically and it’s gentle light is a loving gift to the world.

Creating the New

“When contemplating what our life’s work might be, we are often driven by our attachment to security. Perhaps the one question we don’t ask often enough is “What do I have to offer?”
~Ezra Bayda~
When we begin to break free from the patterns, beliefs and experiences which no longer serve our growth, the ability to create is discovered. Focus on the end result you desire and immediately begin to live it to the best of your ability. What you visualize will come about, though the ego may jump in and attempt to sabotage the process with stories that plant doubt about your worthiness, how long it’ll take or even if you’ll like the outcome of the journey. Trust your initial inspiration, and heed the gentle voice of love found within the stillness of your being.
Inner resistance is often an indicator that something big is about to change. The patterns that have guided you for a lifetime have played an important role in your soul’s development; however, expansion is the goal and new facets are discovered each time we stretch beyond the known into the realm of new experience.
Truly life-changing ideas are rarely heralded by a blaze of trumpets Sometimes they are found in a simple thought that pivots our direction. How you approach the present moment is the key – is it merely a means to an end, or are you celebrating your existence and the journey of your soul? Be led by joy.
