Intuition

Intuition is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.

“Come from the heart, the true heart, not the head. When in doubt, choose the heart. This does not mean to deny your own experiences and that which you have empirically learned through the years. It means to trust your self to integrate intuition and experience. There is a balance, a harmony to be nurtured, between the head and the heart. When the intuition rings clear and true, loving impulses are favored.”
~Brian Weiss~
The quieter the mind, the more you can hear. Intuition is a tool that we can utilize as an powerful aspect of our spiritual growth. Integrating the spiritual experience with the human experience awakens true mastery. As we evolve, we bring a different viewpoint to our life circumstances and learn to trust our inner wisdom.

You will likely discover your own unique way of deciphering the messages from your higher Self. Be patient with this process. Practice different approaches and see what works best for you. As you work with this energy, you’ll learn the difference between intuition and ego-generated thought. Always, the ego will create fear or doubt while the intuition (even when forewarning of a potential challenge) will make you feel empowered.

Self-karma

Everyone who enters your life has a role to play in your growth.

“The spiritual practice of relationships is about working on ourselves only, freeing ourselves from the constricting grip of our own unhappiness. It is not the other person’s job to take our unhappiness away; our discomfort is our own responsibility. Attending to our own spiritual tasks – seeing our judgments, opinions, beliefs, demands, ad staying present with the fears out of which they all arise – frees others to move toward us. Then, when they no longer feel the need to defend, they become more willing to take care of their job. Thus joy in relationships becomes possible.”
~Ezra Bayda~
When we are ready to heal old emotional wounds, our higher Self sends an energetic call out into the universe requesting assistance. Those who answer the call are willing to play a role (typically adversarial) to bring the energy of the wound to the service. These loving souls are willing to risk losing our love and goodwill in this life for the specific purpose of healing.

When we get triggered, when life gets intense, healing is possible. As Rumi once said, “The wound is the place where the light enters you.” The ego may attempt to distract by moving in victimhood; however, this form of resistance indicates that true transformation is at hand.

You are loved, supported and guided – always. Trust the processes of your awakening by choosing to turn and face your challenges with an open heart.

Nurture yourself

Treat yourself with kindness and compassion.

“The joy of Being, which is the only true happiness, cannot come to you through any form, possession, achievement, person, or event – through anything that happens. That joy cannot come to you – ever. It emanates from the formless dimension within you, from consciousness itself and thus is one with who you are.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

Many people forget the importance of self-love. They give and give, stay busy, constantly focus on the next goal or project and typically neglect their own needs. Make yourself, and your state of consciousness, your top priority.

Pay attention to how you begin each morning. Do you immediately rush into tasks that need to be done? Do you lay in bed visualizing various scenarios, reach for the phone or click on the tv? Remember that wherever you place your focus first sets the tone for the rest of the day.

With this in mind, create your own balancing rituals. Begin a loving conversation with yourself and with the Divine. Just for a moment, move into gratitude, slow down and breathe and set your intention. Throughout your daily experience, remember to check your state of consciousness. Are you stressed? Do you need to eat, drink water or be more mindful?

When you nurture yourself, you have more to give those you love. You will be more patient and compassionate and take an active role in your own awakening.

The blame game

The ego loves to judge, blame and criticize. Purposely choose not to participate in such behavior.

“Blaming is an addition. Justifying ourselves can keep us lost in our stories for hours, days, and even years. Blaming puts the focus on the perceived faults of the other and lets us evade the necessity of directing our attention inward. Blame always separates, always disconnects. Overcoming addiction to blaming is an absolute prerequisite to experiencing the connectedness that is the essence of who we are.”
~Ezra Bayda~

When we find fault with another, it distracts us from working on our own dysfunction. Our collective society is currently caught in a mental-emotional trap where it seems that no one will ever be happy with any situation. Social media has provided a way to hide behind a facade while spewing anger at specific people, situations, institutions, companies or more broadly, differing categories of politics, religion or race.

All judgement is self judgment projected outward. It’s important to stay aware and consistently observe the energy that we send out into the world. When the need to blame arises, choose to be silent. Examine the situation to determine what has triggered your ire and focus your attention inward. Bring higher consciousness to whatever you choose to think, say or write. This is an opportunity for you to evolve.

Ultimately, when breakthrough occurs, all we will experience is gratitude for the other. What formerly manifested as reactivity is transformed into awareness and healing.

All of life supports you

Everything that you experience supports your spiritual awakening.

“Spiritual practice includes learning how to open-heartedly receive the shocks of life – the things you don’t like, the people who criticize you, the job that goes wrong, the partner that leaves, the health that fails you – whatever shakes you up.”
~Ezra Bayda~
This world was created in order for us to experience the illusion of separation. We have journeyed together throughout our various lifetimes with the perception that the disconnect was the truth; however, as we awaken, we discover the commonality of the threads that bind us together.

Everything exists for you. The more alert you are, the more present you are, the more you will be able to utilize the events that unfold in your experience as vehicles of enlightenment. The lessons never end because our only life purpose is to awaken. We walk through the cycles of youth, power and wisdom, each phase offering its own lessons and insights, until we ultimately drop the facade and enter into Oneness.

Recognize your own magnificence. Know that you, as an expression of the Divine, are deserving of love, abundance, expansion and joy. Should you feel blocked, know also, that the universe will provide the perfect circumstance to aid you in dissolving this block. Stay alert and be willing to receive the gifts that life has to offer.

Love, light and laughter

Embracing a mystical life creates joyful, lighthearted experiences.

“If the only prayer you ever say in your life is thank you, it will be enough.”
~Meister Eckhart~
Gratitude, joy, celebration… all are expressions of higher awareness. Each comes from within and can never be taken from you. Choose to take life a little less seriously. Yes, our circumstances are relatively important; however, nothing is more important than your joy.

Darkness hits all of us from time to time. The world can seem heavy because so many are struggling with dysfunction, unaware of their own mastery. In challenging moments, we are called upon to shine the light of awareness. Without demanding that others change, without judgment, simply demonstrate what higher consciousness looks like. Allow your life to be your message.

Marianne Williamson says that everything is either love or an opportunity to love. Expand that idea to encompass joy as well. See the world as the ultimate expression of love, light and laughter. As always, when you choose to look for something, you will discover it because all you experience is a reflection of your level of consciousness.

Creativity

Creativity happens when the ego is absent.

“True creativity flows only from stillness. When stillness becomes conscious, the spiritual dimension enters your life and you begin to be guided by an intelligence far greater than the human mind.”
~Eckhart Tolle~
Practice getting out of your head and let yourself be totally immersed in whatever you choose to do. When you bring a creative component to your actions, you become a channel for white light and higher consciousness. Imagine the difference between one who agonizes over a recipe, determined to get it totally right, stressing throughout the process and one who tastes and explores, dancing around the kitchen, enjoying the act of creating. What type of energy is being channeled into the food?

Art is your singular expression. Whether writing in a journal, painting, creating music, decorating your home or finding your unique style, releasing ego opens you as a conduit for divine inspiration.

Expression is the basis for transformation. You may wish to create (or renew) a sacred space in your home. Fill it with anything that inspires you and just sit with the energy. Don’t think – just be… then, bring that higher state of awareness and peacefulness into your day.

Ruthless passion

No matter how far you have come, remember this. You still have a world of infinite potential to explore.

“Intimacy is a totally different dimension. It is allowing the other to come into you, to see you as you see yourself, to allow the other to see you from the inside, to invite somebody to that deepest core of your being.”
~Osho~
When you love and accept yourself, there is no fear. You allow others to experience the truth of who you are. You share your light with the world without seeking outside validation, for there is no need. You are safe in your expression of the Divine.

Life is a dance of contrasts, experience and expansion. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing the mystery of love in motion. Everything provides an opportunity to bring the best version of ourselves to the present moment. Allow love (for the planet, for yourself and one another) to guide your choices.

It’s easy to be open with someone who accepts and understands you. It becomes a little more challenging with those who judge or even attack you, and harder yet with those who trigger old wounds. However, each of these situations teaches something different. See these moments as opportunities to bring the best version of yourself to your life situation. Act with integrity, do your best, accept what is.

Enjoy your humanness

Spirituality is not about rejection or denial of the physical.

“Celebration is a thankfulness; it is a prayer out of gratitude. It is recognition of the gift that has been given to us… It is such an immense gift to be alive.”
~Osho~

Many belief systems preach denial. Abstinence, minimalism or rejection of outsiders lead to excessive rules, guilt and other ego related phenomena. Spirituality becomes inclusive when we learn to bring a higher vibration into our human experience.

Enjoy your preferences; however, do not allow them to crystallize into absolute requirements. Enjoy what is with conscious acceptance. Be playful and expansive. All too soon we will move on from this place of physical beauty and creativity.

Those who have left the earth plane envy our ability to feel the warmth of the sun, to bite into a perfect strawberry, experience exotic spices and textures, hug, cry or watch as the sun sets into the ocean … yet all too often we take our existence for granted. It’s time to enjoy all the magnificence that life has to offer.

How to be happy

Become a pure and open channel and allow the love, light and laughter of the Universe to express itself through you.

“To be a happy person, one has to drop all comparison. Drop all these stupid ideas of being superior or inferior. You are neither superior nor inferior. You are simply yourself! There exists no one like you, no one with whom you can be compared. Then suddenly, you are at home.”
~Osho~
Happiness is a byproduct of being at ease where you are. All those years of self-criticism did not bring happiness. Striving did not bring happiness. Only acceptance sets you free to embrace your journey.

No matter what unfolds in your experience, your consciousness determines how you will interpret and respond. Imagine yourself as empowered, kind, peaceful, open, expressive, creative and joyful. Can you see it? If you can see it, you can create it.

The task may appear daunting to those who are still deeply caught in distress. The way to begin is to observe, take ownership, change what you can and place your attention on the only thing that truly matters – your state of consciousness in this moment.

The ego says, “When my life falls into place, then I can be happy.” However, the converse is true. When you take yourself higher, life will meet you there.
