Everything Serves a Purpose

Sometimes you have to be who you aren’t in order to discover who you are.

“There are no mistakes in life, only lessons. There is no such thing as a negative experience, only opportunities to grow, learn and advance along the road of self-mastery. From struggle comes strength. Even pain can be a wonderful teacher.”
~Robin Sharma~

Mistakes are an important aspect of growth and every experience serves a vital purpose in your soul’s awakening. Some who divorce after years of marriage may believe they wasted the best years of their life.

Those who struggle but never reach a particular goal may feel that chasing an impossible dream was a bad life decision. However, one must consider the lessons that were learned and the people that were met along the way.

We often begin a journey with a destination in mind. The awakening soul discovers that the journey itself is the adventure and the destination was nothing more than the impetus to begin moving in the appropriate direction that ultimately facilitates our soul’s growth.

No matter what you have experienced, no matter what unfolds, you are engaged in a beautiful dance of nirvana. The greater the challenge, the greater the breakthrough.

Trust the processes of your own evolution. Act, and allow life to unfold as it will, for you are a master in the process of awakening.

Awakened Silence

Beneath the cacophony of the mind lies the infinite stillness of Presence.

“It is inner stillness that will save and transform the world.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

The intensity and dysfunction of the world is a collective expression of existence being directed by the egoic mind. To set transformation in motion, each of us must take responsibility for our own state of consciousness. All change begins within; therefore, practice creating peacefulness within your own mind and you will see it reflected in your personal life situation.

Let your life be your message. Each thought, word or action sends waves of energy out into the Universe. Your awareness of this is extremely important. Observe what you add to our collective experience and consciously make choices that lift yourself higher.

Together we can bless existence with gentleness and compassion. Cultivate your inner stillness so that you can walk through the world untroubled. Your peace is transformative.

The Path of Enlightenment

Amazing things begin to happen when you choose to live with an open heart.

“Love is the bridge between you and everything.”
~Rumi~

Each new day holds the seeds of infinite possibility; therefore, choose to experience it wholeheartedly. Seek to bring an unprotected heart to your meeting place. Let the light of your soul recognize the light in those around you. Whenever you interact with someone caught in distress, be a source of love.

Judgment, of the self or others, serves no valuable purpose and distracts us from seeing what is ready to be healed. As we walk the path of enlightenment there will be times when we rise above and others when we miss the mark. Every situation offers a moment to shine or a moment to learn – both are crucial for the awakening soul.

Gentleness, no matter what form it takes, touches the heart of the Divine. Your journey is unique. Embrace the world with your love and express it in a way that expands your spirit. Real joy is found here and now, in this moment. Breathe it in and explore…

Empowerment

Everything that unfolds in your experience is an opportunity to awaken.

“Looking with a mind that’s awake shows the pulsating, shimmering beauty of life. Looking with a mind engaged in thought shows only your thoughts.”

~Ezra Bayda~

When something goes “wrong” the ego creates a story in order to lay blame, justify actions, give up, procrastinate or generally move one into a position of victimhood. In moments of unawareness, we allow these stories to repeat unchecked in the mind until we come to believe them, or we may repeat them to all who will listen in an attempt to have others agree with that mental position. Both scenarios solidify the story.

Whether this occurs in a personal relationship, through the collective experiences of gender, sexuality, politics, religion or familial patterns, the approach to healing is the same: taking personal responsibility.

The journey from victimhood to empowerment begins within. When we choose to honor the moment as sacred, see the challenge as an opportunity to grow and immediately drop the story line, we begin to shift the energy in a way that allows us to transform repetitive behavior into conscious awareness. Events that are seemingly random are a response from the call of your soul. When we are ready to heal an issue, life will facilitate a circumstance that provides an opportunity to break free from old energy.

Despite appearances, you are never a victim. You are a soul seeking to awaken and have more support, guidance and love around you than you can imagine.

Natural Beauty

When unencumbered by the mind, joy is our natural state of being.
“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”
~Kahlil Gibran~

Rather than striving to be a certain way, cultivate your inner beauty through self-acceptance, expressing kindness, sharing your gifts and reaching out to one another in love.

The way to discover your authentic way of being in the world is to fulfill your unique potential. There is no need to compare yourself to another. The Divine expresses itself perfectly through you. As you awaken and free yourself from the mind, you will naturally become more open and the beauty that shines from within will make itself known.

You are a blessing. You have chosen to be here now for a purpose. Remember that any light, no matter how small, will transform a darkened room. In much the same way, your radiance illuminates the lives of those around you.

Transforming Consciousness

Be the love you wish to see in the world.

“The modalities of awakened doing are acceptance, enjoyment or enthusiasm. Each one represents a certain vibrational frequency of consciousness. You need to be vigilant to make sure that one of them operates whenever you are engaged in doing anything at all – from the simplest task to the most complex. If you are not in the state of either acceptance, enjoyment or enthusiasm, look closely and you will find that you are creating suffering for yourself and others.”

~Eckhart Tolle~

The only thing over which you have control is your own state of consciousness. Each of us, as awakening masters, must learn to bring a higher state of awareness into our life experience. With each conscious choice, we begin to break free from old patterns of conditioning.

There are countless people on the planet who are operating from this new level of awareness. Each of us creates a wave of energy that goes out into the universe. What we send out will return; therefore, it’s important to choose wisely.

Your state of consciousness determines how you interpret life, interact with others or respond to challenges. Higher frequencies such as acceptance, neutrality, willingness and love create a flow that brings ease and grace to your experience.

Lower frequencies, such as fear, anger, shame or pride, will trigger others’ low frequencies, thus compounding the unconsciousness and adding layers of ‘problems’ to address.

You have chosen to be here Now for a specific purpose. Be led by the light of your heart, knowing that your presence impacts those around you. Utilize self-awareness as you explore this marvelous world and be open. The foundation of an awakened life experience begins within you.

This is the Moment of Awakening

Look within and discover the perfection in your imperfection. You are an awakening master… and there is always room for growth.

“This growing freedom of the heart brings the courage to question, to clarify and refine for ourselves the teachings we have swallowed whole. We shift from believing in ideals to discovering the wisdom that emerges from our own experience.”
~Jack Kornfield~

Treat yourself with the same compassion, kindness and consideration that you so willingly give to those you love. Know that in order to truly discover wholeness, we must first  learn how to be fully present within each situation and with every person with whom we interact.

No matter what unfolds, you are experiencing what is required for the current phase of your spiritual growth. Even the simplest of interactions has infinite messages layered within it. Find enlightenment doing the laundry, being with your children, or in the smile of a dog. You are surrounded by love. When you embody this wholeness into your life, you are well on your way to new levels of understanding.

Allow your spiritual awareness to extend throughout every aspect of your experience. Bring a higher level of consciousness to each situation with the intention of utilizing it as part of your personal journey of awakening. With the emergence of wisdom, the heart expands to encompass everything as Divine.

Empowered Choices

Break free from the addiction to victim-hood.

“Blaming is an addiction. Justifying ourselves can keep us lost in our stories for hours, days, and even years. Blaming puts the focus on the perceived faults of the other and lets us evade the necessity of directing our attention inward. Blame always separates, always disconnects. Overcoming addiction to blaming is an absolute prerequisite to experiencing the connectedness that is the essence of who we are.”

~Ezra Bayda~

Blaming and complaining are very closely aligned. They create an atmosphere of victimhood and ensure that we remain stuck in negativity. When either arises in your experience, and the mind seeks to begin a litany of “why?”, choose instead to take complete ownership of your own experience and make peace with the present moment.

Eckhart Tolle teaches that there are three options available when we find ourselves in an untenable situation: leave it, change it or accept it. Sometimes it takes a bit of exploration to determine which is best in a given situation; however, it’s important to remember that one approach must ultimately be chosen if we are to create grace and peace in our own experience.

The scourge of victimhood is the tendency to complain without taking conscious action or to blame others (or life itself) for our lack of movement. As one becomes more self-aware, he or she discovers the joy of personal responsibility. Life provides several areas in which we can practice empowerment and acceptance.

Each of us is responsible for our own joy.

Heartfelt Gratitude

Heartfelt gratitude and joy draw in even more for which you can be grateful, creating an infinite cycle of abundance.

“Celebration is a thankfulness; it is a prayer out of gratitude. It is a recognition of the gift that has been given to us…”
~Osho~

It seems that many people forget that life is sacred. In their unconsciousness they create an existence that is filled with drudgery and conflict. For them, the world feels like an unsafe place. This is the high cost of unconsciousness.

Those who have awakened understand that there is no need to postpone their joy. They can see the beauty in every situation and are deeply rooted in the Now. Nothing is missing and this moment has great cause for celebration. They do not wait for everything to fall into place before they dance in celebration of life.

When we treat one another with generosity and compassion, we create a space filled with infinite possibility. Become more sensitive to the nuances of life itself and allow its essence to enter you. Choose to be more trusting and open while purposely living in a world of wonder.

Love What Is

Honor your path as sacred.

“The ego says, ‘I shouldn’t have to suffer,’ and that thought makes you suffer so much more. It is a distortion of the truth which is always paradoxical. The truth is that you need to say yes to suffering before you can transcend it.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

The human experience is paradoxical. Through anger we discover peace. Limitation teaches how to expand. Hatred transforms into love. Judgment paves the way for compassion. By immersing ourselves in whatever unfolds in the present moment without resistance, we can begin the process of loving what is. This shift becomes more fluid when we approach our daily life situations with conscious awareness rather than reactivity.

To honor your path as sacred means to understand that everything plays a valuable role in your awakening. Nothing is dismissed as unimportant or “not spiritual.” On the contrary, all you encounter becomes meaningful and worth your loving examination. Self-reflection is the key. Turn inward, bring yourself into balance and experience life with an open heart.
