Natural Beauty

When unencumbered by the mind, joy is our natural state of being.
“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”
~Kahlil Gibran~

Rather than striving to be a certain way, cultivate your inner beauty through self-acceptance, expressing kindness, sharing your gifts and reaching out to one another in love.

The way to discover your authentic way of being in the world is to fulfill your unique potential. There is no need to compare yourself to another. The Divine expresses itself perfectly through you. As you awaken and free yourself from the mind, you will naturally become more open and the beauty that shines from within will make itself known.

You are a blessing. You have chosen to be here now for a purpose. Remember that any light, no matter how small, will transform a darkened room. In much the same way, your radiance illuminates the lives of those around you.

Transforming Consciousness

Be the love you wish to see in the world.

“The modalities of awakened doing are acceptance, enjoyment or enthusiasm. Each one represents a certain vibrational frequency of consciousness. You need to be vigilant to make sure that one of them operates whenever you are engaged in doing anything at all – from the simplest task to the most complex. If you are not in the state of either acceptance, enjoyment or enthusiasm, look closely and you will find that you are creating suffering for yourself and others.”

~Eckhart Tolle~

The only thing over which you have control is your own state of consciousness. Each of us, as awakening masters, must learn to bring a higher state of awareness into our life experience. With each conscious choice, we begin to break free from old patterns of conditioning.

There are countless people on the planet who are operating from this new level of awareness. Each of us creates a wave of energy that goes out into the universe. What we send out will return; therefore, it’s important to choose wisely.

Your state of consciousness determines how you interpret life, interact with others or respond to challenges. Higher frequencies such as acceptance, neutrality, willingness and love create a flow that brings ease and grace to your experience.

Lower frequencies, such as fear, anger, shame or pride, will trigger others’ low frequencies, thus compounding the unconsciousness and adding layers of ‘problems’ to address.

You have chosen to be here Now for a specific purpose. Be led by the light of your heart, knowing that your presence impacts those around you. Utilize self-awareness as you explore this marvelous world and be open. The foundation of an awakened life experience begins within you.

This is the Moment of Awakening

Look within and discover the perfection in your imperfection. You are an awakening master… and there is always room for growth.

“This growing freedom of the heart brings the courage to question, to clarify and refine for ourselves the teachings we have swallowed whole. We shift from believing in ideals to discovering the wisdom that emerges from our own experience.”
~Jack Kornfield~

Treat yourself with the same compassion, kindness and consideration that you so willingly give to those you love. Know that in order to truly discover wholeness, we must first  learn how to be fully present within each situation and with every person with whom we interact.

No matter what unfolds, you are experiencing what is required for the current phase of your spiritual growth. Even the simplest of interactions has infinite messages layered within it. Find enlightenment doing the laundry, being with your children, or in the smile of a dog. You are surrounded by love. When you embody this wholeness into your life, you are well on your way to new levels of understanding.

Allow your spiritual awareness to extend throughout every aspect of your experience. Bring a higher level of consciousness to each situation with the intention of utilizing it as part of your personal journey of awakening. With the emergence of wisdom, the heart expands to encompass everything as Divine.

Empowered Choices

Break free from the addiction to victim-hood.

“Blaming is an addiction. Justifying ourselves can keep us lost in our stories for hours, days, and even years. Blaming puts the focus on the perceived faults of the other and lets us evade the necessity of directing our attention inward. Blame always separates, always disconnects. Overcoming addiction to blaming is an absolute prerequisite to experiencing the connectedness that is the essence of who we are.”

~Ezra Bayda~

Blaming and complaining are very closely aligned. They create an atmosphere of victimhood and ensure that we remain stuck in negativity. When either arises in your experience, and the mind seeks to begin a litany of “why?”, choose instead to take complete ownership of your own experience and make peace with the present moment.

Eckhart Tolle teaches that there are three options available when we find ourselves in an untenable situation: leave it, change it or accept it. Sometimes it takes a bit of exploration to determine which is best in a given situation; however, it’s important to remember that one approach must ultimately be chosen if we are to create grace and peace in our own experience.

The scourge of victimhood is the tendency to complain without taking conscious action or to blame others (or life itself) for our lack of movement. As one becomes more self-aware, he or she discovers the joy of personal responsibility. Life provides several areas in which we can practice empowerment and acceptance.

Each of us is responsible for our own joy.

Heartfelt Gratitude

Heartfelt gratitude and joy draw in even more for which you can be grateful, creating an infinite cycle of abundance.

“Celebration is a thankfulness; it is a prayer out of gratitude. It is a recognition of the gift that has been given to us…”
~Osho~

It seems that many people forget that life is sacred. In their unconsciousness they create an existence that is filled with drudgery and conflict. For them, the world feels like an unsafe place. This is the high cost of unconsciousness.

Those who have awakened understand that there is no need to postpone their joy. They can see the beauty in every situation and are deeply rooted in the Now. Nothing is missing and this moment has great cause for celebration. They do not wait for everything to fall into place before they dance in celebration of life.

When we treat one another with generosity and compassion, we create a space filled with infinite possibility. Become more sensitive to the nuances of life itself and allow its essence to enter you. Choose to be more trusting and open while purposely living in a world of wonder.

Love What Is

Honor your path as sacred.

“The ego says, ‘I shouldn’t have to suffer,’ and that thought makes you suffer so much more. It is a distortion of the truth which is always paradoxical. The truth is that you need to say yes to suffering before you can transcend it.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

The human experience is paradoxical. Through anger we discover peace. Limitation teaches how to expand. Hatred transforms into love. Judgment paves the way for compassion. By immersing ourselves in whatever unfolds in the present moment without resistance, we can begin the process of loving what is. This shift becomes more fluid when we approach our daily life situations with conscious awareness rather than reactivity.

To honor your path as sacred means to understand that everything plays a valuable role in your awakening. Nothing is dismissed as unimportant or “not spiritual.” On the contrary, all you encounter becomes meaningful and worth your loving examination. Self-reflection is the key. Turn inward, bring yourself into balance and experience life with an open heart.

Tree-hugging

The world is ready to share it’s gifts with you.

“And into the forest I go
to lose my mind
and find my soul.”
~John Muir~

Trees seem to call to me. No matter where I live or travel, I find myself being drawn into their loving energy. Each morning on my gratitude walk I take a moment to meditate under a copse of pepper and oak trees. Their silence grounds me. Their peace comforts me, and I leave their presence renewed. Nearing home I stop to hug another tree that stands patiently with open arms. In our embrace my heart chakra opens to receive pure love.

These brief moments play a significant role in how I decide to begin my day. It’s important to recognize what brings you joy and incorporate it into your daily routine. Your conscious choices will expand your experience of life in miraculous ways. The world is filled with beauty for those who have eyes to see.

The Universe has secrets to share. Love rains down upon you from all dimensions. How will you choose to receive it?

Reflection

Today my intention is to be an authentic, loving reflection of the Presence in others.

“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind.”
~Wayne Dyer~
Sometimes it can be challenging to see ourselves clearly. One of the most beautiful aspects of the human condition is our ability to reflect truth to one another.
When you enjoy someone’s integrity, compassion, kindness or sense of humor, it’s because they are reflecting your own wonderful qualities to you. Likewise, when you see patterns of behavior that frustrate you, it’s important to look within. By simply owning your own stuff it becomes easier to release limiting patterns of your own.
Pay attention to the words you use to describe the people you encounter throughout the day – they will provide tremendous insight. Each of us views life through the filters of our own perception. If there are things you wish to shift or heal, simply do so without any self-judgment or recrimination. Otherwise, honor and own your beautiful qualities and allow them to shine.

Dancing in Slow Motion

Stop and listen to the melody that plays within your heart.
“Now is the time to see Sunlight dancing as One with the shadows.”
~Rumi~

All of life participates in the dance of existence. The ebb and flow of experience creates a give and take that is artistry in motion. If you have lost your joy, ask yourself when you stopped dancing. When did life become more of a drudgery than a flow? Have you lost your ability to recognize the song of infinity?

To dance, we must be fully present and allow our mind, body and spirit to respond to one another and to the world around us. We must be free of ego, ready to follow when necessary, moving confidently in harmony with the music of life.

Learn from one another. When someone or something sparks joy within your soul, invite them into your dance. Let your life be a celebration of connection, passion, and creativity knowing that each of us plays an integral part in the collective dance of awakening.

The Doorway

This moment is your doorway to eternity.

“Peace comes from being aligned with the present moment. Wherever you are, you feel that you are home – because you are home.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

No matter what is unfolding in your experience, immerse yourself within it completely. Feel the breath as it moves through your body. Move into gratitude for all that you see. Honor the present moment as sacred by experiencing it without resistance or thought. The choice to consciously be present creates a sense of peace and may bring a contented smile to your face. Both are indicators of someone who is awake to the Now in a way that is healthy and life-affirming.

If not now, then when? Why wait to experience your life with joyful and conscious intent? You can step through the threshold of awareness to a new level of consciousness. When limiting thoughts arise, simply observe them and purposely choose to do the opposite. Typically, the ego-mind will want to keep us where we’ve always been; therefore, quietly taking the opposite action will begin to break you free from the past and open your energy to new dimensions of experience.

You have been prompted to read these words because you are ready for something new. What will you create?
