Courage and Understanding

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the silent voice at the end of the day that says, ‘I will try again tomorrow’.”
~Mary Anne Radmacher~

Each of us has a world of potential at our disposal. These seeds are ready to expand into our awareness. Without courage, one remains encapsulated within a hard shell, never experiencing the wonder of life, blocked from all progress. When we begin to drop ego, release our defense mechanisms and become one with the earth, we tap into the courage required for movement. Willing to take a risk, we stretch towards the light of consciousness.

The next phase is the sharing of our gifts – the flowering of love and the willingness to be grateful allow us to explore the realm of beauty, to give our treasures back to the earth (and those who follow along behind)… and finally, we explore the joys of fragrance as our senses become more subtle and merge with the Universe.

When you step into understanding, you are free. Authentic understanding goes beyond experience. The heart never asks “why” or “how”, instead it listens and takes action. Even the tiniest spark of understanding can bring about a tremendous awakening to your life. Allow the seeds of potential within you to grow. Nurture them, give them space to be and open yourself to the light of love…

Procrastination

“After meditating for some years, I began to see the patterns of my own behavior. As you quiet your mind, you begin to see the nature of your own resistance more clearly, struggles, inner dialogues, the way in which you procrastinate and develop passive resistance against life. As you cultivate the witness, things change. You don’t have to change them. Things just change.”
~Ram Dass~
Procrastination feeds the ego-mind in one of two directions. It feels good to contemplate the good things you will do someday, seeing yourself as being better or making positive changes. Conversely, negative self-talk keeps us stuck saying “I know what I should be doing, but I never seem to finish anything.” Either way, it strengthens false personality and creates dissatisfaction in the present moment.
The moment you notice a “should” creep in, simply take action – any action – and allow the energy to move in whatever direction it flows. The choice to take one conscious step opens up a world of possibility.
No matter what challenges arise, observe your inner dialogue. When you change your thoughts, your life is transformed. Inner resistance is something that can be released through conscious movement.

Sacred Communication

“Our task must be to free ourselves… by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.”  ~Albert Einstein~

As we awaken, we become more aligned with the world around us and therefore, will naturally bring higher consciousness into our decisions and interactions. “Harm none” is more than approaching life in a mindful and magical way. It calls upon us to be aware not only of our actions, but also of the words we speak, where we allow our minds to dwell and ultimately, how we express ourselves in the world.

Your journey is a sacred conversation with life. We live in a world filled with wonder. Delve into it’s depths and discover new facets of your being. Rather than being a slave of old ideas and preconceptions, we can choose to be deeply aligned with the magic and mysteries that surround us.

Recognize the teachers around you. Our domestic animals have great wisdom to share about love, communication, kindness. Wild animals carry specific energy and messages from the Divine that can inspire compassion and empowerment. As agents of light, we are called upon to bring a humility and gentleness to the world.

A Shift in Perception

“We change the world not by what we say or do, but as a consequence of what we have become.”
~David R. Hawkins
~

Trust. All that unfolds in your experience is simply an opportunity to love. Challenging situations provide an arena in which you can practice the concepts you are seeking to master. You can help others shift their perception to a higher level of awareness by living at a higher level of awareness.
Einstein once said that problems cannot be solved at the same level of consciousness at which they were created. That means that we must seek to rise higher in order to bring new energy to stagnant situations. This process calls upon us to perceive things differently. Awakened people are typically quiet, allowing pauses in their conversations, responding with mindfulness and accepting others as they are. They have learned the art of compassion.
Enlightenment is the systematic removal of limited perception. When you look at a flower or a tree, don’t label or categorize; instead, choose to take a moment to honor its presence. Appreciate each detail, feel its texture, breathe in the scent and listen to its message. The miracles of life are all around you.

Foundational Love

“The truth that for our life one law is valid – the law of love, which brings the highest happiness to every individual as well as to all mankind.”
~Leo Tolstoy~
Expressing authentic kindness and compassion creates the foundation of a joyful, fulfilling life. Consider the energy that unconditional love brings to your experiences. In its light, there would be no need for fear, complaint, judgment or blame. Because you seek it, you would discover love in every situation, no matter how it unfolds.
All that you experience is either an expression of love or an opportunity to bring loving energy into the present moment. Consider that before you speak and before you act. Ask yourself, “Am I adding love to the situation?” If so, proceed.
It may be difficult to immediately move into higher consciousness when in the midst of a challenge. In those moments, simply observe the thoughts that arise, notice what action the ego prompts you to take and purposely do the opposite or move into stillness. To see those who challenge you as souls that are helping you to grow and evolve is is a wonderful expression of self-love and your life will be better for it.

Adventure

“It isn’t by getting out of the world that we become enlightened, but by getting into the world…by getting so tuned in that we can ride the waves of our existence and never get tossed because we become the waves.”
~Ken Keysey~

Sometimes we feel safe within the routine of our lives, staying on familiar paths and seeking out those who support us in our beliefs; however, life is an adventure to be lived. We can experience the Now with intention, choosing to leave the past behind while seeking the gifts that await discovery.

If your situation is not one that allows you to explore new friendships and circumstances, use the beauty of old friendships as best you can – learning together, trying new things and allowing room for change.

Your insights and perceptions are unique by-products of the journey you have chosen to walk. There are no guarantees and while we can sometimes feel lost along the way, it’s the search that helps us to grow. Be willing to take risks. Expand your comfort zone and a world of infinite possibility will open. It’s natural to feel a little shaky when spreading your wings to fly but this is an opportunity to experience the freedom that life has to offer.

The ability to find serenity, peace and comfort in the midst of change is a wonderful skill to cultivate. Invite new adventures into your life and heed the call of the unknown.

Share Your Unique Gifts

“Our higher purpose is what we came here to do on a soul level. We are born with the specific interests, talents, and abilities to fulfill that purpose.”
~Shakti Gawain~
You bring something unique and sacred to the world of form and it can only be fully expressed when you choose to live from the heart. Whether you seek to touch one life or many, realize that you do make a difference. There has never been, nor will there ever be someone with your unique energy and way of being in the world. The journey of your soul can inspire others in ways that you cannot imagine.
Some may express themselves through art, invention, writing stories or raising children while others may be wonderful listeners, someone who remains positive in the face of challenges or free thinkers who accelerate our collective awakening. When your gift comes naturally, you may underestimate the impact it has on others, but you are quite literally fulfilling your life’s purpose simply by being yourself.

In a world of limitless possibility, there is great joy in exploration. New experiences will awaken facets of your spirit that are ready to shine.

Living in Paradox

“Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.”
~Pema Chödrön~

Don’t try to change, simply be aware… awareness heals. Spiritual practice is often a blend of paradox – confusion and clarity, separation and wholeness, detachment and presence. The word paradox itself comes from the Greek para dokien which means beyond thought. See yourself as a physical expression of the Divine who wishes to experience life in all its forms. Teach yourself to look through the illusion and act consciously within the present moment. Eventually the illusion will become easier to see through as we remember our purpose: Oneness and Wholeness.

So many suffer, lost within the “why’s” and entrapped by the mind. The same energy, knowledge and peace discovered by all the masters who have walked the Path of Transformation awaits you within the openness of your own heart. For all your searching, ultimately the answers lie within.

It can take great courage to learn to trust your inner wisdom. Teachers and circumstances consistently point us inward, but until one is willing to see, there it waits. Trust, be gentle with yourself and open to the potential that joy brings. No matter what teachings you encounter, be led by your inner wisdom. Give yourself permission to live consciously within the paradox, without dissecting or analyzing it.

Stillness

“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.”
~Deepak Chopra~
We cannot control other people or the events of life as they unfold. We can, however, control how we choose to respond to them. The quickest way to a healthy, conscious response is to be peaceful and balanced before challenges arise. Make inner stillness a priority. Slow down, breathe, observe. When the ego seems to demand that you react or opine, purposely move into mindful acceptance and compassion prior to choosing to speak or taking action.
In every moment you have the choice to accept or reject. Whether pleasant or not, what is, is. Rejection takes us out of the stillness of the present moment while acceptance takes us deeper into it. Challenges do not block you from awakening, they are the path of awakening.
External distractions, mental noise and emotional turbulence can block the voice of your inner wisdom. But even in moments of chaos, you can still access the stillness that resides in the background of your life. When you can slow down and step into that energy, you create a sense of peace in your experience. Let that stillness be the foundation of your interactions.
Wherever you are, be there completely. Immerse yourself within the task at hand and pay attention to the experience itself. Every cell in your body is filled with Divine intelligence. The infinite source of life itself seeks to express itself through you.

Beyond Illusion

“Nirvana or lasting enlightenment or true spiritual growth can be achieved only through persistent exercise of real love.”
~M. Scott Peck

No matter how long one walks in the dark, illumination is always at hand. The only goal of human existence is to awaken to who we truly are and each of us must ultimately walk the journey alone. Release the things which bring stress to your experience. When you find yourself juggling too many tasks at once, struggling to please those around you or placing excessive demands upon yourself, recognize that you have the ability to shift the energy. Beyond the illusion lies the peace and silence of your inner wisdom.

The emerging freedom will allow you to be as a butterfly releasing from the cocoon – forever transformed with new and exciting aspects of life to explore. Be willing to release any patterns within yourself that have created limitation in your life. The natural progression of spiritual awakening will allow you to navigate the journey in a way that is wholly unique.

Existence is overflowing with possibility and opportunities for expansion. The ideas of poverty, comparison, lack and fear are man-made concepts. Abundance is everywhere – watch nature in motion, try to count the stars, measure the gifts of sunlight. To live is to create a joyful existence. To be abundant is to honor life in motion, finding beauty in the layers of texture, color and taste.
