Gentle Presence

“Bring me a higher love.”

– Steve Winwood~

Why are you so hard on yourself? You are beautiful. When you approach the present moment from the higher levels on consciousness, life becomes simple. Like the delicate flickering of a candle flame, the light of awareness sets the stage for a peaceful interpretation of life’s illusions.

It’s all love and nothing is lacking. No matter what unfolds, you can handle it. Be gentle with yourself knowing that love lives in the shadows as well as the light. Seek to reside outside of the drama and become the compassionate, supportive observer. This intentional clarity will remove all distractions.

Beauty is here Now.

Love is here Now.

Imagine that today is a blank page, waiting to be filled with your thoughts. What will you write?

Mindfulness and Transformation

The way to elicit positive change and transformation is mindfulness. Make inner peace and balanced health your first priority – quiet the mind, meditate, and spend a few moments completely free of distractions each day.

When we focus on making conscious choices and make an effort to only use words which support our intentions and desires, we set the stage for a shift in consciousness. Everything is energy and has a collective impact upon your personal vibration.

If mindfulness is something which gets lost in the busy and changeable world of your existence, start small. Choose one hour to be completely mindful in all that you do – in your work, while cleaning house, preparing dinner or petting your dog – choose to be fully present. Any activity can be used as part of your spiritual practice. As you become well versed in mindfulness, extend the time longer and longer throughout your day.

There is nothing new you need to add to your store of knowledge. Mindfulness is simply a removal of the distractions and negativity that block you from connecting to your source. You can do this now, there is nothing to be gained by waiting.

The Sacred Pilgrimage

The joy is in the journey. Every relationship, whether it lasts for a lifetime or for a brief moment, provides an opportunity to discover the mysteries of love. Ego-driven love is rooted in fear and desire. Authentic love supports growth, exploration, discovery and laughter. Seek to experience those who grace your life with an open heart by demonstrating acceptance, openness and patience.

Life is a dance with the Divine. Each person you meet is a unique spark of eternal consciousness that seeks to experience the synergy of awakening. When we approach our life situations with the intention of assisting in this process, the Divine is able to make itself known in miraculous ways.

Practice generosity, sharing mind, body and spirit without reservation or expectation and you will open portals of new experience. Through Presence, each interaction becomes an opportunity to express kindness and compassion. We stand together at the threshold of understanding.
We can consciously move through the infinite landscape of our souls awakening by honoring the present moment. Whenever you enter periods of contrast, paradox, movement or change, choose to face whatever arises with a sense of adventure and growth. This is your sacred pilgrimage.

Allowing

“Must I fear what others fear?
Should I fear desolation
when there is abundance?
Should I fear darkness
when that light is shining everywhere?”
~Lao Tzu~

(from the Tao te Ching, 20th verse)

Higher consciousness calls upon us to be deeply rooted in the Now. Presence brings a new type of freedom into your life experience. When you find yourself striving for more or trying to please others at the expense of your own joy, choose instead to relax into the power of the present moment. Set down your burdens. Notice any “what ifs?” that arise – see how they steal your peace?

Be present, move into complete acceptance and see yourself as whole and complete. This empowered choice aligns you with the flow of life. We live in a vibrant, thriving energy field. Our thoughts and beliefs send waves of energy throughout the Universe and they always return in unexpected and beautiful ways.

Act with integrity, do your best, accept what is. Know that everything unfolds in the way that is most appropriate for your souls evolution. You are a child of light, a master in the process of awakening. Imagine having a worry-free existence. That is the gift that awaits you.

Participation

“Stop playing it safe by trying to avoid adversity. Act from the heart and let circumstances unfold as they will.”

~Ezra Bayda~

Zen is doing one thing at a time with your full attention and consciousness awareness. The incremental steps we take toward enlightenment transform our very way of being.  Life is a dance of light and dark, giving and receiving, the contrasts bringing out the inherent beauty within every situation. Each of us make unique contributions to the wholeness of existence and together we create a synergy that will ultimately expand our collective consciousness.

You participation in life nourishes you as well as those around you. Be fully present. Do one thing at a time and give your whole heart to it. In order to recognize the joy that is found in the present moment, we must escape the limiting perceptions of the mind.

All that you seek is already within you. Embrace what is with enthusiasm, passion or acceptance and take one more conscious step forward. Allow your inner wisdom to guide your life. Relax, and recognize your value as an awakening master.

Releasing Limiting Patterns

“You have the power to choose bliss.”
~Amy Leigh Mercree~

When we recognize infinite possibilities in the world around us, life becomes a mystery to be lived rather than a business to be managed. You can choose to become more aware of limiting patterns and focus on making joy the top priority in your life.

Limiting behavior includes complaining… if something bothers you, change it. If it cannot be changed, change your response to it. Whatever we put our energy into grows stronger, so complaining in any form is an act of self sabotage that robs you of joy in the present moment.

Certainly there will be circumstances that inspire us to shift consciousness or make necessary changes. As soon as you notice the desire to mention how something bothers you, take a moment to go into silence. Ask yourself if you have the power to change the situation. If the answer is yes, make the conscious decision to speak about the solution or new approach rather than the problem itself. If the answer is no, become aware of the ego’s desire to speak and begin the process of moving into acceptance. This process will transform your life and experiences in magnificent ways.

Be Filled With Wonder

“Being truly present allows us to appreciate the sweetness of the moment even when the moment isn’t conventionally sweet, because, at least momentarily, we’re not under the sway of the heaviness of our beliefs. The results are a lightness of being, and a sense of inner freedom.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Have you ever been overwhelmed by a beautiful day? Have you allowed yourself to sit and just be, appreciated the breeze as it touched your skin or loved a moment of stillness in the midst of a busy world? That is reality. That sense of wonder which connects you to life is available in every situation. Underneath the chaos of the mind lies an eternal reservoir of grace that you can drink from anytime you wish.

The light of your consciousness transforms whatever it shines upon. Periodically take a moment to bring your attention to the Now and reside fully within it. Even the most mundane aspects of life will sparkle with brilliance and you will be able to recognize the sacredness of your own divinity.

This moment provides a wonderful new opportunity to see yourself clearly. Step into this moment. Breathe. Be open to life and bask in the radiance of the light which shines through you.

Life’s Gifts

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

~Albert Einstein~

We have the opportunity for expansive growth in this moment. By choosing not to be offended by anyone or anything, by releasing hurt and resentment, by rising above the mechanisms of the mind, we create space in which a transformation can occur.

Set yourself free from all fear and limitation. Recognize that your interpretation of the world is a reflection of your own level of consciousness and be willing to learn from any challenges that arise. Everything serves a specific purpose on your journey of discovery.

I am forever grateful and humbled when circumstances show me ways in which I limit myself. As a lifetime student of love, I am willing to explore its nuances no matter how they are presented. The willingness to release judgment and move into acceptance is a lifelong process.

The more consciousness you bring to a situation, the more you’ll be able to recognize the inherent possibilities it contains. The awakening spirit is willing to explore the unknown rather than continuing to repeat old patterns. Observe your interpretation of the world and choose to celebrate the many gifts that you are offered.

Turning Inward

“No matter how you may be feeling, simply sit down, experience the texture of what is happening in your body and mind – and then just let it be.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Once you develop conscious awareness of the ego, it is easier to observe its antics. Like watching ripples on a pond or a tangle of traffic, it becomes almost amusing to witness as it tries various ways of pulling you into the games of the mind.

Contentment is possible in the present moment – indeed that’s the only place where it can ever be found. Stop where you are, close your eyes, breathe and be present. Allow the fullness of life to be experienced as you turn inward.

Many people run from one thing to the next – physically, verbally, mentally – and it can be exhausting, not only for them but for those around them. But once the peace of stillness is discovered, we can immerse ourselves totally in the moment and bring Presence in to whatever we choose to do.

Develop the art of stillness and then purposely infuse that high-vibration energy into every interaction. Observe the antics of the mind, smile and know that you are a source of peace.

Finding Gratitude in Grief

“In some ways, [gratitude] makes [grief] more profound, because it allows you to look at it. It allows you to examine your grief in a way that it is not, like, holding up red hot ember in your hands, but rather seeing that pain as something that can warm you and light your knowledge of what other people might be going through.”

~Stephen Colbert”

Compassion is learned through experience. In Presence, we can create space around emotions that arise and transform our wounds into empowerment. Challenges help us to discover facets of insight and awareness that are ready to shine. When you can turn toward your grief and embrace it, it becomes a powerful aspect of your awakening.

Our history does not define us, but it does inform us. Rather than thinking the challenge shouldn’t have occurred, or believing the “if only” created by the mind, see everything as part of the perfect unfoldment of your life, the exemplary movement of love and loss, lessons and values that can only come through depth of emotion.

Our shared humanity is the key to spiritual awakening. We all walk the same journey and we can find joy in walking one another home.
