Connecting to Source

“The river is constantly turning and bending and you never know where it’s going to go and where you’ll wind up. Following the bend in the river and staying on your own path means that you are on the right track. Don’t let anyone deter you from that.”
~Eartha Kitt~

It’s easy to be peaceful when sitting in meditation, spending quiet moments in nature or engaged with people whose beliefs completely align with yours. It’s a bit more challenging to remain in a state of peace when facing someone in the grip of anger, dealing with the intensity of modern life or when finding yourself triggered by things you had thought long healed.

Our spiritual journey is accelerated when we bring a sense of inner awareness and consciousness into whatever the present moment has to offer. Rather than only setting aside specific moments for your enlightenment, scatter them all throughout your day. View consciousness as important as breathing until it becomes second nature. These moments of deep connection align you with the miraculous beauty of life.

Look within and honor yourself and your expression of the Divine as sacred. Open the crown chakra to receive the love, light and laughter of the Universe. You are the bridge between the physical world and the infinite. Seeing this clearly is enlightenment.

Meditation

“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
~Thich Nhat Hang~

In the midst of the bombardment of daily life, take time to just be – fully present, patient, easy, aware. Periodically quiet the mind, allow yourself to listen and bring stillness into your experience. Meditation, no matter how you choose to approach it, is an important part of staying balanced. There is a sanctuary within you where you can commune with the Divine.

Stillness and anxiety cannot coexist in the same space, nor can fear and love or hatred and peace. Every cell of your being is filled with Divine Intelligence and, in conscious awareness, the Universe responds. All that you seek is already within you.

Many people say that they don’t know how to meditate or feel that they can’t stop thinking. This is merely a product of the ego that sabotages your efforts before you begin. Just sit and be. Listen to the sounds you hear without identifying or categorizing. Notice the beat of your heart, subtle noises around the house or outside, and take one conscious breath… then another and another.

Owl Medicine

“Everything that’s created comes out of silence. Thoughts emerge from the nothingness of silence. Words come out of the void. Your very essence emerged from emptiness. All creativity requires some stillness.”
~Wayne Dyer~
Silence takes us into the space of infinite possibility. Therein lies the potential of movement, creation, wisdom and peace. As we dance in the wilderness, we open to receive the love, light and laughter of the Universe.
No matter what you wish to create, seek expansion – of ideas, insight, art. Your unique wisdom is ready to emerge into the world of form.  As an awakening master, you can absolutely navigate any shadows within your experience and transform them into light. Step into the mystic and call upon Owl Medicine to strengthen your ability to see clearly.
This is the moment of your transformation. Sit in the stillness and notice the messages that are all around you. Slow your breathing, quiet the mind and be receptive. What you need to know will make itself known in the perfect way at the perfect time.
Honor the process of your awakening. Only through the death of the old can the new emerge.

Facing Challenges Consciously

“Every challenge takes you a little deeper and awakens you again and again. Without the challenges, you probably would go to back to sleep. The challenges keep you awake.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

Think about all that you’ve learned so far on your spiritual journey – the tools of awakening tried and sometimes discarded, the basis of how you view your life, the facets of strength you have discovered as a result of facing challenges, the wisdom of surrender and acceptance, the power of gratitude.

What about those moments when gratitude seems far away? Sometimes we walk in darkness with the belief that all the tools we have cultivated have either deserted us or no longer work with the strength they once did. But something is different this time around…. we’re conscious of the fact that we are suffering. We actively apply what we’ve learned or seek new ways to address whatever challenge arises with the knowledge that we’ll find a way to grow through the process.

That’s the difference between someone who has experienced awakening and someone who has yet to access the knowledge that lies underneath the drama. The conscious approach becomes something of a dance with the Divine, a tango of immense passion filled with talent, surrender and synchronicity. Lifetime after lifetime we perfect this dance. Spiritual awakening is a process of constant practice and application.

The Power of Presence

“True freedom is when all the stories, all the insights, all the realizations, concepts, beliefs and positions dissolve. What remains is what you are; a vast, conscious, luminous space simply resting in itself, not knowing a thing, at the point where all things are possible.”
~Enza Vita~

Presence is achieved by going inward. The ego disappears, the roles and life situations become transparent and only empowered silence remains. When you begin to realize that you are much more than the stories of the mind, you have planted the seeds of your own spiritual maturity.

You can bring a powerful sense of peace and well-being to this moment. Life presents opportunities to respond to darkness with light, to show kindness to those who seem to reject it the most and to experience the infinite Presence of the Now.

Ultimately, you create your own experiences, have your own insights and live a unique journey.  No matter how you choose to connect to the Divine, do it consistently. Let your life be a walking meditation with the realization that awareness is your true nature. As you drop old patterns and limiting beliefs, you are left only with the infinite mystery of your being.

Sacred Space

“The spiritual life does not remove us from the world but leads us deeper into it.”
~Henri J.M. Nouwen~

Simple things matter. Small acts of kindness can change situations in powerful ways. When we choose to live gently, we discover that our sojourn is filled with majestic spaces. Instead of rushing from one thing to another, one person to another, solving problems or acquiring more, we have the capacity to hear the whispers of wisdom.

Consciously create quiet space in your experience. The world is a sanctuary that is overlooked all too often because of our focus on the mundane. Today, seek to bring gentleness to your life situation, whatever it is, and treat yourself well.

In the stillness we can slow down and experience the fullness of life itself. You can step into the inner sanctum of the Divine, drink deeply of peace and bring that sacred energy into the present moment. All life has a rhythm, an energy that is constantly sparking creativity and rebirth. We are part of this beautiful rhythm.

Moments of inner silence play a valuable role in your spiritual awakening. Let your life be a communion with all that you see. The sacredness you experience is a reflection of your own energy.

The Uses of Adversity

“I’ve come to trust not that events will always unfold exactly as I want, but that I will be fine either way. The challenges we face in life are always lessons that serve our soul’s growth.”
~Marianne Williamson~
Consider the uses of adversity. Challenges refine our skills and prompt us to cultivate our strengths. We discover that life doesn’t end when things fall apart; rather, space is created to explore aspects of ourselves that are ready to shine. Even when the ego is caught up in desire and attachment, the soul understands exactly what is needed.
Trust in the unique processes of your awakening. Nothing is more important than your state of consciousness in the present moment. When you view life as an opportunity to evolve and grow, everything becomes more manageable. Ultimately, you can walk the journey as a source of grace and peace and even humor knowing that there is far more to life than meets the eye.
Life will present the perfect circumstances to assist in your spiritual awakening. This is true for each of us – singularly or collectively. Seek the lesson or the gift in any circumstance, and most assuredly, you will find it.

Be Your Unique Self

“By being yourself you put something wonderful in the world that was not there before.”
~Edwin Elliott~

You play a significant role in the tapestry of existence and there will never again be anyone quite like you. Observe nature. Witness how everything plays a specific role in its evolving ecosystem, no matter how obvious or insignificant it appears. Often, the smallest creatures do the most important work.

The world needs you to be yourself. For some this comes easily while others search and experiment in order to discover their true potential. Be led by love, live your passions, seek joy in the present moment and you will not be led astray.

The people you have drawn into your life seek your true spirit to shine through. We are all deeply engaged in the awakening of human consciousness and you have chosen to be here, in this moment, for a purpose. You may discover that you feel called to action, you may be a healer or teacher, or you may be a frequency holder who keeps the energetic vibration in a situation as high as possible. You’ll recognize your path by the degree of peacefulness you feel upon it.

Inner Dimension

“If you can make everything you do a conscious process, you will live an absolutely Blessed Life.”
~Sadhguru~

The paradox of being an infinite being having a human experience creates a dance between wisdom and love. As we access our inner wisdom – releasing ego, competition, judgment and limitation – we discover the boundless possibilities that love and Oneness have to offer.

Both states exist simultaneously. Seek to access the inner dimension of love and purposely utilize it as the energetic undercurrent of your life. This will allow you to experience the present moment for itself rather than as a means to an end. Honor life, and therefore yourself, as sacred by experiencing the Now with intention, joy, acceptance and freedom. When you are balanced in this moment, life will fall into place.

The awakening soul learns how to access this sense of stillness and peace, even in the midst of chaotic situations. Yes, this takes practice but is well worth the exploration. Make a conscious choice not to allow another person or circumstance to dictate the level of your joy. Outside factors ebb and flow; however, inner grace is permanent, infinite and complete.

Nature and Stillness

“Nature can bring you into stillness. That is its gift to you. When you perceive and join with nature in the field of stillness, that field becomes permeated with your awareness. That is your gift to nature.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

Behind the sounds, beyond the experience, under the chatter of the mind lies the brilliance of your own Divine nature. It’s important to periodically remove yourself from the cacophony of life and immersing yourself in nature is a wonderful way to realign with awareness. The same Presence awaits whether you are in the mountains or beaches, enjoying your back yard or sitting in silence with a beloved plant. Simply be. Allow nature to teach you of stillness.

Peace is a simple thing… all we need to do is clear away the clutter and listen. The conscious awareness of the spiritual seeker opens these moments of connection, and from there our perception of the world expands into something wholly new. Wherever you are, be there completely. Listen, just listen. Find the heartbeat of life and enter into it. You are infinite. You are divine. You are awake. And so it is.
