Awakening

“If every day is an awakening, you will never grow old. You will just keep growing.”
~Gail Sheehy~
There are three phases of life – Youth, Power, and Wisdom. We progress through these 27 year cycles, reconnecting with the soul on a deep level with each Saturn return. During the Youth cycle, the character is formed as we grapple with childhood conditioning and reawaken to our soul age and consciousness, typically around ages 27-29. These moments are intense because they are the first time we come face to face with the fire of our spirit.
In the Power phase we explore the material plane more thoroughly. During these years we typically explore the lessons to be found through raising a family, earning money, acquiring possessions, and finding our unique voice in the world.
We enter the Wisdom phase at age 54. This is the second time that we come into direct contact with the soul. If we have awakened through the lessons we faced, it will be easy to make appropriate decisions that change our way of being once again. During this phase we are more introspective. We explore ideas of death as well as the infinite journey of the soul and begin bridging the energy between the physical and spiritual.
We are lifetime students of love on a journey of awakening. At age 81 the soul chooses whether to leave the planet or continue with karmic lessons. Life after 81 is very karmic, if we need to reexamine lessons, we become very childlike once again, perhaps requiring care. If the lessons have been learned, life becomes a sharing of love and wisdom and others are blessed by our presence.

The Quest

“Say it, reader. Say the word ‘quest’ out loud. It is an extraordinary word, isn’t it? So small and yet so full of wonder, so full of hope.”
~Kate DiCamillo~

So here we are, journeying together on a quest throughout time and space. Adventures, challenges, drama and breakthrough await. The only way to explore fully is to become lost in the story until we cultivate an understanding of how the game works and all obstacles have been faced. As we expand our awareness we have a broader perception and, based upon the basic rules we have uncovered, can anticipate the next steps to take.

Once you recognize the patterns, things become simple. You draw in various circumstances and people that reflect your current vibrational frequency. As you become more conscious, greater potential is realized and you can move effectively through various life situations.

The point is the vastness of experience and to see how many facets of being you can discover. Each one combines to create a masterpiece of light and shimmering possibility and when you have exhausted the need for physical experience, it will drop away and the game will continue on other levels of existence.

One side note: This is a collective experience – what helps one helps all. What harms one harms all.

Enlightenment

“For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes. To someone who doesn’t understand growth, it would look like complete destruction.”
~Cynthia Occelli~

Enlightenment is a slow, transformative process. The journey inward hesitantly begins with many starts and stops. The heart feels pulled to engage the mystery and we begin the fumbling movement towards ecstasy.

The ego equates enlightenment with death – and indeed, enlightenment is the death of the ego. As we evolve, it must become more subtle and so we visit the same type of circumstances repeatedly until we have gleaned insight from many differing levels of consciousness.

Ultimately, the soul heeds the call of awakening and we are able to break free from the ravages of karma. While life still unfolds as it will, we no longer feel victimized by circumstance; instead, awareness transforms even the most challenging situations through love.

Each of us will forge a unique pathway to higher dimensions. The most beautiful thing that you can do is share your insights and wisdom and act in a way that exemplifies them in the world of form. This is the process of transformation.

Anam Cara

“In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.”
~Albert Schweitzer~
A chance encounter, reconnecting with an old friend, recognizing a kindred spirit… these everyday miracles are transformative. As we grow in awareness and experience, we learn to embrace these moments of love and connection. They often seem to come in the perfect way to assist with times of change, bringing new insights and perspectives.
Be grateful for those who grace your life. Celebrate the bond of love between you and elevate one another. Let your soul friends, your Anam Cara, inspire you to be the best version of yourself. The gifts we share become our strengths. When friendship connects on a deep inner level, the soul responds with a resounding “Yes!” and we are renewed.
Compassion and clarity are the fulcrums of this journey of awakening. We can act as mirrors for one another and remind those we love of their beauty and potential. Nothing is more sacred.
