The Life of Your Dreams

“I create my own experiences. As I love and approve of myself and others, my life gets better and better.”
~Louise Hay~
The way to create the life of your dreams is to live it now – from where you are, with what you have. Begin your day by focusing on what you wish to experience rather than what is missing. Let gratitude begin the momentum of transformation. Your thoughts have power and when you consciously and consistently choose what to send out into the world, you increase their impact.
Goals are measurable, concrete and tangible; whereas dreams are crafted from the level of spirit. Some wonderful examples of dreams that can enhance one’s life immediately, are:
I will continue to learn my entire life knowing everyone is my teacher.
I let go of dogmatic or limiting beliefs and free myself from the past.
I choose to parent my children consciously. They chose me for a reason…
I will live the life of a poet, seeing beauty all around me.
I will honor all life as sacred and see beyond appearances
There is nothing more important than how you live today. Bring the best version of you to this moment and  detach from specific outcomes. This is what is meant when it is said to focus on the journey rather than the destination.
If your life is filled with one wonderful day after another, if you’ve had a meaningful encounter with someone today, if you’ve shared kindness and had a positive impact on someone’s life, you are living the live you dreamed.

Embrace the Experience

“I don’t believe people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they are looking for the experience of being alive.”
~Joseph Campbell~

In spite of the many lifetimes we engage with one another on this planet, the experience of being human is but a tiny aspect of our spiritual journey back into Oneness. Earth provides the illusion of separation. We create intense karma and challenges, joyful connections and love in order to fully experience all aspects of the human adventure.

Think of all the things you love: the sunsets, springtime, music, your favorite foods, how the light filters through the leaves of a forest on a summers day, the feel of snow crunching under your boots, the contrast of a good movie that makes you laugh and cry, and so much more! When you begin to think of all that brings joy into your experience, you’ll discover that the list is endless… and yet we’ve just begun.
Rather than seeking for meaning in your life situations, bring meaning to them. Your brilliant, beautiful mind can be used to perceive the grace and wonder of being alive. Touch one another in love. Be kind to yourself. It will be gone all too soon and then we’ll be off on a new type of collective experience. It’s hard to mentally grasp the infinite; therefore, enjoy the Now and watch how it continues to evolve.

Abundance

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

In this vast, infinite universe, there is more than enough energy for all to experience abundance and fulfillment

Each person resides under the law of their own prosperity consciousness. No matter what you choose to believe, life will support it. Rejoice in the blessings that others manifest in their lives, be generous in your giving, open your arms and be willing to receive.

Your thoughts and attention direct your energy. Personal beliefs of lack and limitation block the ability to recognize the abundance that is  already available to you. Enjoy paying bills and taxes, make sure that you are not rejecting the gifts that come your way and treat yourself with love and kindness.

As we begin to create feelings of greater safety and abundance, it becomes easier to demonstrate kindness and generosity to others. Know that your constantly expanding consciousness will be amplified by choices that support creating and living the life of your dreams. Consider adding this statement to your gratitude walk or affirmations: I am grateful for the effortless, ever-increasing flow of abundance that moves so easily through my life.

Be Filled With Wonder

“The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.”
~Emerson~

One of the things I love best about writing these daily meditations is the need to consistently take new pictures. In the midst of my gratitude walk I enjoy looking for something beautiful to share with you. This desire causes me to immerse myself in the world around me,  see through the eyes of a child and pause to fully experience whatever has captured my attention.

The wildflowers pictured above are incredibly tiny and grow in a small clump in the mulch next to the path upon which I walk. Their simple beauty and transient nature encourages me to enjoy the present moment. Walking the same path each day for years has taught me the importance of appreciation as I watch consciousness express itself in various forms.

The sky is a living, moving canvas of inspiration. The chatter and interactions of the birds never fails to bring a smile to my face. The flowers sustain the pollinators and share their beauty with the world. And most importantly, I am grateful for you, gentle reader. Thank you for your participation in the awakening of my spirit. Because of you, I have learned the power of Presence.

Higher Love

“Once the soul awakens, the search begins and you can never go back. From then on, you are inflamed with a special longing that will never again let you linger in the lowlands of complacency and partial fulfillment. The eternal makes you urgent. You are loath to let compromise or the threat of danger hold you back from striving toward the summit of fulfillment.”
~John O’Donohue~
Imagine a flame flickering in the darkness. The light that it casts creates shadows, warmth and mystery that draws others to share a moment of connection. You are this light. As you awaken to higher consciousness, your expression of love and kindness is transformed. Rather than seeking love, become love.
Life is a playground of exploration. To honor all that you see as sacred is to be immersed in love. The energy that you choose to focus upon becomes stronger in your experience. With that in mind, seek to feed the flames of higher love. Conscious awakening is a gift that you can share with the world.
I see life as a living conversation with the Divine. Moments of gratitude remind us to seek joy in the little things, and within that joy is a doorway to a realm where anything is possible.

Anam Cara

“In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.”
~Albert Schweitzer~
A chance encounter, reconnecting with an old friend, recognizing a kindred spirit… these everyday miracles are transformative. As we grow in awareness and experience, we learn to embrace these moments of love and connection. They often seem to come in the perfect way to assist with times of change, bringing new insights and perspectives.
Be grateful for those who grace your life. Celebrate the bond of love between you and elevate one another. Let your soul friends, your Anam Cara, inspire you to be the best version of yourself. The gifts we share become our strengths. When friendship connects on a deep inner level, the soul responds with a resounding “Yes!” and we are renewed.
Compassion and clarity are the fulcrums of this journey of awakening. We can act as mirrors for one another and remind those we love of their beauty and potential. Nothing is more sacred.

Life is the Journey

“The healthiest response to life is laughter from the heart, and even in the face of global turmoil, we can cultivate an internal sense of optimism.”
~From Why is God laughing? by Deepak Chopra~

It is said that love is the destination and life is the journey… You have a unique way of being in the world. Honor it simply by being yourself. Your style, perception, grace and laughter spark a new energy in our awakening consciousness. Everything in your experience is filled with infinite potential – what will you choose to create?
Remember that what you see in the physical world is often the exact opposite of what is occurring in the spiritual world. Opportunities are often disguised as loss. Look deeper. If you ego clamors for reactive patterns or worry, strive to do the opposite. This will allow you to transform the challenges you encounter into  strength.
Gratitude will always create a flow of positive energy in your experience. It takes us from victim-hood consciousness to empowerment. You are right where you need to be. You are safe, supported, loved and guided each and every step of the way. It’s time to reclaim your freedom – the freedom to thrive.

Sacred Space

“Gratitude is a sacred space where you allow and know that a force greater than your ego is always at work and always available.”
Wayne Dyer~

Once you discover what makes you feel deeply connected to the Divine, immerse yourself within it on a daily basis. Quiet moments in gratitude, tending your garden, reading in the sunshine, doing yoga, playing music, preparing food, meditation, prayer, journaling, conscious breath… anything that soothes your soul is a doorway to peace.

Repetitive behavior creates a shift in your energetic field. When you consciously set an intention to feel balanced, peaceful and grateful, it becomes easier to access the energy that has already been set in motion. In this way, you carry your sacred space with you.

You are the conduit through which the Divine experiences itself in the world of form. With this in mind, you can look upon life with eyes of mystery and delight and it becomes a sanctuary where that experience can be honored.

Blooming

“You don’t have to remind a flower when its time to bloom is near; it has been preparing for it all of its life.”
~Matshona Dhliwayo~

As we learn to transcend the mechanics of the ego and rise above thought, we are able to recognize the sacredness in life and within ourselves. All that you see is a reflection of your current state of consciousness; therefore, choose to periodically remove yourself from outside distraction and just be. Experience the beauty of life without mental chatter. Immerse yourself in the magic of the present moment and in the stillness, feel the vibrant response of your soul.

When we spend time in nature in this manner, our energy is replenished. The stresses of the day become less important as simple gratitude transforms the mundane into the sacred. The small, ordinary things of life become vehicles of spiritual awakening. The laugh of a child, the love of a dog, clouds creating pictures in the sky… everything is the voice of the Divine. Recognizing this, you are enlightened.

Setting the Tone

“Waking up this morning, I smile. Twenty-four brand new hours are before me. I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with eyes of compassion.”
~Thich Nhat Hanh~

Greet the day with joyful expectation and consciously set an intention of exploring the world with a open heart. When we choose to approach the present moment with the innocence and openness of a child, miracles begin to unfold. By releasing attachment to the ‘shoulds’ and embracing what is, we allow a new perception to unfold.

You are the co-creator of your experience. Observe your self-talk and adjust when necessary. You can choose to see your life as an adventure in time and space. Become a loving witness to the infinite ways in which the Universe speaks to you. When you really pay attention, everything contains a message meant to guide your unique path of transformation.

The new friendships, experiences, ideas and circumstances you encounter will break you free from any limiting routines you may have created. These compelling energies will awaken the aspects of yourself that are ready to shine and bring them to the surface.
