Self-Realization

“Your own Self-Realization is the greatest service you can render the world.”
~Ramana Maharshi~

Impatience is an indicator that we do not trust the process of our awakening. The ego wants events to unfold differently and creates a low level of anxiety, always seeking for the next thing. This is a distraction that prevents us from truly appreciating the present moment and all that it has to offer.

Slow down and cherish what is in front of you, no matter what that may be. Even the most mundane moments are a gift from the Divine and your awareness can allow you to recognize miracles where none were perceived before.

Too often spiritual seekers develop attachment to outcomes. The process of awakening becomes laced with desire for better relationships, more abundance, balanced health… and we utilize these physical indicators to measure how our spiritual walk is progressing. However, realizing that you are already complete frees you from becoming lost within the illusion.

There is no way to achieve wisdom except to remove the obstacles that block your perception. This cannot be taught by others but must arise from within. This is self-realization. Allow the sense of wonder to take you on a journey of discovery. Peaceful presence can become the foundation of your life.

Slow Down and Let Go

“Drink life one sip at a time. This moment is brand new. Let it pour it’s newness into you.”
~Hiral Nagda~

There is no need be enslaved by expectations that you have placed upon yourself. It’s time to reside in the fullness of who you are Now. There is a new quality of acceptance that awaits discovery underneath the illusions we create, and you may find that you welcome this moment in a way that you never did before. Home, peace and beauty reside within you, perfect in the stillness. The key is to be at ease with whatever you choose to do. Approaching life in a way that is centered, alert, joyous and grateful allows space to for love to express itself.

When we release expectation around timing, self-imposed “shoulds” and impatience, we allow the Divine to emerge without interference. Life is transformed into a dance of Oneness. Even challenges become a doorway through which we can share the expression of the awakened soul. It is simply the right time to be who you are and celebrate your unique way of being. Be one with the earth, work with your hands and enjoy this temporary experience of being human.

Recognize the Sacred

“To the poet, to the philosopher, to the saint, all things are friendly and sacred, all events profitable, all days holy, all [people] divine.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
To honor the sacred is to be in communion with life. The easiest place to begin is in nature. We can celebrate the stillness of a tree and the brief, iridescent existence of the dragonfly with the same mindfulness. Slow down and simplify. In the gap of pure potential we can bask in the radiance of the Divine.
Once you have strengthened your ability to recognize sacredness, practice with objects that you find beautiful. It’s likely that an artisan or craftsman created from a space of deep connection, imbuing it with energy which is now awakening joy within you. Many people respond to the spirit within animals or babies because the lack of ego makes it easier to see love shining through.
With humans, a little more intention is required. We can learn to see past the role that is being played by the ego to the spirit within. Sometimes this can be challenging because of layers of dysfunction or conditioning. This is when your ability to see clearly is needed the most. As you practice honoring everything in your experience as sacred, the sacred will awaken within you.

Right Action

“The practice of Right Action is a practice of faith, a faith that says what we do matters. We matter. And whether we’re refilling the coffee pot at work or speaking in front of a crowd of thousands, we have the power to change the world one small act at a time.”

~Alex Kakuyo~
Awareness ensures that your responses to life are empowered rather than reactive. Once the ego is no longer in control, mindfulness will bring higher consciousness into any situation. From that space of awareness, the action (or inaction) that is for the highest good of all involved will make itself known. Then you can act with integrity, do your best and accept what is.
When right action is in motion, it drops completely from your consciousness. There is no need to replay it, take credit for it, wonder if your choice was ‘right’ or worry about how things will unfold. This is the Divine working through you without ego-driven interference.
Cultivate mastery by approaching daily experiences such as driving, interactions with your children, the energy you bring to your work or your self-dialogue with calm awareness. The peace of Presence is always there. Honor the present moment as sacred by experiencing it fully. Right action will surely follow.

Conscious Surrender

“We are at our most powerful the moment we no longer need to be powerful.”
~Eric Micha’el Leventhal~
The awakening spirit becomes empowered through surrender. Rather than trying to force life to meet our perception of perfection, we seek to see the perfection in life as it is. As human beings, our view is narrow – typically focused on ego-driven desire and based upon our immediate life experience. We cannot see the threads of life as they are woven together to create the tapestry of creation. The hand of the Divine is always at work in ways that we cannot imagine with our limited perception.
And yet, often there is an aspect to our belief system that prompts us to attempt to control, plan for every contingency or need assurance prior to taking action. Spiritual mastery involves conscious surrender to what is. As you cultivate worthiness and self-esteem, it becomes less important to be seen as right. Inner humility guides us, love becomes the expression of our joy and what you need to know will make itself known at the perfect time. Trust the processes of your awakening.

Experience Oneness

“You are not limited to this body, to this mind, or to this reality—you are a limitless ocean of Consciousness, imbued with infinite potential. You are existence itself.”
― Joseph P. Kauffman
Consider the unique beauty of snowflakes. Each is its own temporary, exquisite work of love and art created by the journey through the clouds. Their moment of existence is fleeting and much like Tibetan sand mandalas or Shamanic sand paintings, they naturally dismantle once complete, change form and merge back into oneness.
This lifetime is akin to that of a snowflake. We come and weave patterns based upon our journey through energy and illusion. Our dance with one another can be beautiful and gentle or destructive and intense; however, the molecular structure remains the same.
To experience Oneness in a world of difference, it’s important to remember how each of us is shaped by our experiences, imprinting, beliefs, level of consciousness and karmic lessons. We are all aspects of the Divine and love ultimately resides at the core of everything. Until we discover it wholeheartedly within ourselves, we will not be able to see it reflected in the world around us. Set an intention to seek out commonalities in your interactions. Feed loving energy and kindness into your life situation and allow that to inform your unique shape and way of being in the world.

Living Authentically

“You were born to stand out, stop trying to fit in.”
~Roy T. Bennett~

Conscious action accelerates your spiritual awakening. By living authentically and opening to the expansion of life, you become aligned with the infinite and limitless aspects of who you are. Action takes the words and teachings of the masters and puts them into daily practice. When you choose to share your gifts, do so with an open heart.

Let your life sing the melody of the Divine. Live your passion, follow your bliss and be a light to those who are still finding their way out of the darkness. That may be your purpose. If one life is changed in a positive and life-affirming way because of an interaction with you, you have left the world a better place… and there is no greater joy than that.

You are a unique blessing. Seek to remove all that blocks you from being at peace with yourself and the present moment. When you find balance in mind, body and spirit, you’ll discover the ease and grace that come from living an authentic life. Choose to speak in a way that is  loving, uplifting, supportive, compassionate and kind. The greatest gift we can give one another is acceptance.

Connecting With the Divine

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs.
When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
~Ansel Adams~
Each of us must find our own way to connect with the Divine. Life is a process of experimentation… we play, explore, create, study and revere, and yet, the miracle of connection cannot be forced. We simply find the key in the present moment, open the door and cross the threshold of awareness to new levels of consciousness.
When you discover what opens your heart, honor that movement of energy by giving it consistent attention. Let your world be informed by the formless while you allow compassion and love to flow through you into all that you do.
You bring something beautiful to the world. The more profound the experience, the more words will cheapen it; therefore, learn to be comfortable with silence. You can walk the earth with a gentleness that speaks volumes while enjoying your conversation with the mystery. Your life will be your message.
This is the moment of transformation. Begin small. Be authentic. Seek your bliss… and manifest it into the world of form.

Higher Love

“Once the soul awakens, the search begins and you can never go back. From then on, you are inflamed with a special longing that will never again let you linger in the lowlands of complacency and partial fulfillment. The eternal makes you urgent. You are loath to let compromise or the threat of danger hold you back from striving toward the summit of fulfillment.”
~John O’Donohue~
Imagine a flame flickering in the darkness. The light that it casts creates shadows, warmth and mystery that draws others to share a moment of connection. You are this light. As you awaken to higher consciousness, your expression of love and kindness is transformed. Rather than seeking love, become love.
Life is a playground of exploration. To honor all that you see as sacred is to be immersed in love. The energy that you choose to focus upon becomes stronger in your experience. With that in mind, seek to feed the flames of higher love. Conscious awakening is a gift that you can share with the world.
I see life as a living conversation with the Divine. Moments of gratitude remind us to seek joy in the little things, and within that joy is a doorway to a realm where anything is possible.

Sacredness

“It is best to emphasize again and again that spiritual awakening has nothing to do with reaching a divine state. Rather, it is the acknowledgement that every moment is about accepting life’s divinity.”
~Steve Leasock~

We are the conduits through which the Divine experiences itself. Throughout our varied, daily experiences, we can find reminders of love and support everywhere. The more balanced one is, the easier it is to be receptive to the pureness of that energy.

Seeing life as sacred is the foundation of a joy-filled journey. A conscious approach prompts us to transform challenges into empowerment, losses into blessings and endings into new beginnings.

You have incredible potential. What is needed will present itself in the perfect way at the perfect time. In that moment, you will recognize the calling of your soul and see beyond the mechanisms of the ego to the love which resides at the core of all things.

The wordless messages of existence can only be heard with the heart. Experience, feel, observe – and notice when the ego jumps in with facts, knowledge, projections or distractions that limit your experience. Moments of inner silence play a valuable role in your spiritual awakening.
