Being Love

“Spiritual practice is about increasingly entering into love – not personal love, but the love that is the nature of our being.”
~Ezra Bayda~

The purpose of our journey is to discover the love that resides at the root of all situations. Unconditional love – for oneself as well as others – once discovered, is something that no one can take from you. How empowering it is to find a way to love even those who may have caused you harm. Great freedom awaits those who seek this high level of consciousness.

You can create space in which transformation can occur. When demonstrating love for a child, life partner, friend or family member, allow for infinite possibilities to be explored. Support them as they navigate their journey of awakening by being a consistent force of loving kindness in their experience.

When someone feels trusted, accepted and loved, they thrive. With no opposition, one can experience expansion rather than wasting precious energy on protection, explanations or defensiveness.

The best way to provide this space of empowerment is to continue your own work. When we focus on ourselves and explore the nuances of  conscious living, we bring greater awareness to all of our interactions.

The Heart of Wonder

“Wonder is the beginning of wisdom.”
~Socrates~

As awareness increases, our ability to participate in the miraculous grows sharper. We become a loving bridge between the mystical and the mundane. Consider the difference in viewpoint between someone who continually gazes down at their phone or is lost in thought, and one who, deeply immersed in Presence, consciously experiences the nuanced world around them.

To break habitual patterns is to shine the light of consciousness upon the road ahead. Purposeful action sparks movement in new directions. When you live with genuine curiosity, you ignite pure energy into your journey. Seek out other viewpoints, learn how to live within the paradox by being authentic and consistent in your approach.

Wonder sparks wisdom which ultimately impacts the journey of discovery in beautiful ways. Drop the need for labels and limiting interpretations. Instead, choose to observe life and your response to it. When you look through the eyes of love, only appreciation remains. With gratitude, we celebrate our friendships, experience the birth of a brand new day, seek enlightenment and ultimately discover peace. No matter what unfolds within your life circumstances, you can choose to bring a conscious, empowered, joyful attitude to your journey.

Stand in Your Truth

“You rarely have time for everything you want in this life, so you need to make choices. And hopefully your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are.”

~Mister Rogers~

Our actions have greater meaning when they are aligned with our true nature. The dance of awakening calls upon us to explore the depths of being, embrace what is truly important and act with integrity. Often this authenticity comes to the forefront after facing challenges that shake the foundations of old belief systems and expectations.

As you seek greater understanding be willing to change. Expansion comes into being at the end of our comfort zone. The enlightenment you desire is not a static end result; rather, it is an on-going process of exploring the limitless facets of love.

Every circumstance leaves us transformed. Your light has a powerful impact on those with whom you interact and you leave a trail of sparkles in your wake. There has never been, nor will there ever be, anyone with your unique way of being in the world. This moment is an opportunity for you to love who you are as well as the aspects that have yet to be discovered.

Aging Consciously

“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.”
~Sophia Loren~

One of the benefits of conscious aging is to experience and share the wisdom of a life well lived. The explorations through youth and power lead us to discover our passions and talents. Around age 54, we enter the cycle of wisdom. Here we begin to explore the various life lessons we have faced and cultivate a better understanding of the structure of the soul.

For those unable or unwilling to do the work, aging can be frustrating. Any dysfunction becomes even more deeply entrenched and the missed lessons intensify. Life becomes a burden and often impacts others. Lost in and controlled by stories of the ego, they are unable to value and work with the power of change.

Aging can be extraordinary for those who have awakened. Moving consciously through the stages of life, they still continue to learn, adjust when needed and are less controlled by outside factors. These beautiful souls have incredible wisdom to share.

Recognizing the Miraculous Within the Mundane

“And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.”
~Kahlil Gibran~

For me, there is nothing more beautiful than beginning a new day. Gratitude upon awakening, walking the doggies as the world slowly awakens, celebrating birdsong, receiving the gifts of springtime… Each morning I breathe in the miracle of life as a gift filled with promise and potential.

With this foundation in place, the magic of discovery infuses everything I do throughout the day. It creates a sense of patience and ingenuity while navigating life. When you choose to recognize the beauty around you, everything changes. What you place your attention upon grows stronger in your experience. Knowing this, you can choose how to consciously direct your energy.

We walk together through this illusion of contrast. Enlightenment is an ongoing process that brings a new awareness into our interactions. As we awaken, perception expands and we are able to see with greater clarity and compassion. Honor the progress you have made. Should you face a challenge, or feel overwhelmed, seek to find the miraculous within the mundane. Appreciation of life’s little joys can replenish the soul.

Being a Conduit for Love

“Simple kindness to one’s self and all that lives is the most powerful transformational force of all.”
~David R. Hawkins~

In order to create peace within our experience, we must first cultivate it within ourselves. From a quieted mind comes thoughtful expectation, conscious choices and the ability to respond to life from a higher frequency. All of us have known what it is to be afraid or to doubt our own worthiness. These imbalances were usually the very things that set us off on the journey of transformation and, for those who have been on the journey of awakening for years, it can sometimes be challenging to remember what complete unconsciousness was like.

Allow compassion to flow through you when dealing with someone who has yet to awaken. Harmful behavior (whether toward oneself or others) is typically a by-product of fear or not understanding one’s true sacred nature. The power that you emit is absolutely transformative and it can be enlightening to witness your impact when acting as a conduit for love.

The higher your vibrational frequency, the simpler life becomes. The greatest gift you have to give is being balanced in mind, body and spirit.

Duck Medicine

Those who are unwilling to change demand that everyone around them change. This is to avoid triggers or the need to self-assess and is deeply rooted in ego. Often they feel enslaved by anxiety and therefore, want to avoid conflict and discomfort at all costs.

Those who are awakened understand that empowerment and freedom come from within. These beautiful souls have to capacity to utilize challenging moments as opportunities to prove their mettle. They actively seek answers and are constantly expanding their perception. Because they are willing to take ownership for their state of consciousness, awakening is accelerated.

Rather than attempting to control life, learn to flow with it. Know that you can handle anything that unfolds in the present moment. Like the duck, release negative energy through movement. A squawk followed by a quick flap often happens after a bit of duck-related conflict… and then he moves on, seemingly over it, once again deeply rooted in the present moment.

There is no need to carry the weight of the past on your shoulders. Be gentle with yourself and others, and simply do your inner work quietly, consistently and intentionally. This is how you create space where transformation can occur.

A Higher Perspective

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
~Wayne Dyer~

Something magical happens when we view life from a higher perspective. Beyond the mechanisms of the mind – thoughts, opinions, confusion, stories, histories and other facades – there is great potential and power; however, the ego often distracts us from seeing clearly.

You have the ability to interpret life from many different perspectives. As your vibration increases, new viewpoints become available. Periodically bring your awareness to your own state of consciousness. Are you fully present? Can you purposely shift your thoughts in ways that are empowering? How often do you show yourself love and compassion?

Consciousness is the journey of expansion into all dimensions, the discovery of broader perspectives and the integration of all that we have learned. It seeks to express itself through our interactions and provides an opportunity to see life differently.

Life is a tapestry of dark and light, a blending of dimensions from the depths of lower consciousness to the heights of love and communion. They exist together and when we cultivate the understanding that all are required in this dance of awakening, we begin to have a very different perspective of the world.

Consciousness

“Every act that you do unconsciously, you could also do consciously, and that makes a world of a difference.”

~Sadhguru~

To me, awakening has a very simplistic nature. We often call it a journey or a process; however, it is something that naturally happens to all of us. Consider that you awaken each day, (perhaps from a night filled with dreams or time spent quietly recharging) either gently drifting upward back into consciousness or abruptly from sounds around you. Both ultimately lead to waking.

Now, the mind will often tell you that you’re far away from being a conscious, enlightened being. It will continually lead you to the next thing to try… the next teaching or book or mediation. And they’ll work for a while, until the mind pulls you back into the dream by planting the idea that something is still missing.

I tell you this. You have all that you need. This moment can be approached with consciousness. You can be non-reactive. You can choose to be kind to yourself and others. You can appreciate the scents and sights around you and absolutely thrive in this human experiment. Consider it. Just be here now and you will see.

There is Joy

“Laughter is wine for the soul – laughter soft, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness – the hilarious declaration made by man that life is worth living.”

~Sean O’Casey~

Each of us has the capability to create moments of joy throughout our expression of consciousness. In the midst of darkness, there is light. Countless opportunities to spark laughter reside within the various absurdities of life. The weight of expectation or desire dissolves within shared mirth. Celebrate those who bring a lighter point of view to our collective experience. Their unique perceptions open pathways to new areas of the subconscious.

Seek to fill your experience with countless tiny moments of joy rather than seeking to attain one particular goal. When we enter the field of awareness with humility and a sense of adventure, we open floodgates of energy that inspire, amplify and awaken, simplifying our journey.

Joy and peacefulness go and in hand. Approach life with a sense of wonder and for you, life will be transformed into something magical and  extraordinary. One spark of awareness can change everything.
