Facing Challenges

“The spiritual practice of relationships is about working on ourselves only, freeing ourselves from the constricting grip of our own unhappiness. It is not the other person’s job to take our unhappiness away; our discomfort is our own responsibility. Attending to our own spiritual tasks – seeing our judgments, opinions, beliefs, demands, and staying present with the fears out of which they all arise – frees others to move toward us. Then, when they no longer feel the need to defend, they become more willing to take care of their job. Thus joy in relationships becomes possible.”
~Ezra Bayda~

The obstacle is the path. Be aware that what you do not want to change is exactly what you need to look at the most. Have the courage to turn inward and face your shadow-self with loving, ruthless honesty. Your attention and awareness begins the process of transformation.

Bring a sense of adventure to the journey of your life and seek to find unique ways to face the hurdles you encounter. Whether found in health, relationships, finances or within your spiritual practice, you are ready for something transformative to enter your life. Your willingness to be an active participant in your own growth guarantees movement in your experience.

Be kind to yourself. There will be moments of brilliance as well as times when you may miss the mark. Empowerment calls upon each of us to take personal responsibility for our current state of consciousness so that we can engage life with an open heart. Act from the heart and allow circumstances to unfold as they will.

Cycles of Awakening

“Be kind to yourself as you proceed along this journey. This kindness, in itself, is a means of awakening the spark of love within you and helping others to discover that spark within themselves.”
~Tsoknyi Rinpoche~

It has often been said that the only constant in life is change itself. We continually move through cycles of transformation – birth and death, beginnings and endings, love and hate, health and imbalance – flowing through the experience of opposites in a vast, exquisite pattern of movement as part of our evolution. Everything plays a role in this dance of awakening and the more centered we become, the easier it is to reside at the core of this energy, peaceful… knowing that this too shall pass.

Patterns replay until we become mindful enough to shift the paradigm of our belief and expectations. One of the most powerful aspects of spiritual awakening is the joy of finding the flow of ease and joy in the midst of our human experience. This comes from discovering and cultivating trust in your inner guidance. It speaks in whispers, gently reminding you that you can feel more balanced, whole and integrated if you so choose.

In a darkened room any light, no matter how small, will transform everything. Find the source of light within yourself and allow it to guide you through the mazes of the mind into a space of connection with the Divine.

I Honor Your Path

“How would your life be different if…You stopped making negative judgmental assumptions about people you encounter? Let today be the day…You look for the good in everyone you meet and respect their journey.”
~Steve Maraboli~

Many today feel the loss of changing relationships. Polarities are becoming more extreme and excessive stories of the ego are causing people’s pain-bodies to take over in reactivity, anger or fear. Rather than focusing on perceived differences or the loss of closeness, consider that each soul is on a sacred journey.

To honor the path of another is the greatest act of love that you can give. Acceptance does not require agreement, nor is it apathy. The awakening soul understands that each of us must walk the journey of awakening in our own way.

The only thing over which you have any control is your state of consciousness. Do your best, act with integrity and accept what is. As life unfolds you may get more clarity, or not. Understanding that everything works for the collective highest good of all is a foundational belief that counsels patience and understanding.

There is far more to life than meets the eye. Be kind. Every situation provides countless opportunities to learn and evolve and, in the words of Ram Dass, we’re just walking one another home.

Worthiness

“Your problem is you are too busy holding on to your unworthiness.”
~Ram Dass~
When someone doesn’t believe they deserve joy, they often sabotage their own efforts. Our beliefs create our reality. If you wish to manifest positive changes in your experience, yet carry the belief that you are not worthy or not good enough, you will create blockages to receiving the beauty trying to come your way.

Repeating patterns show us our innermost beliefs. When we pay attention, everything is a message. The act of self-observation shines the light of consciousness upon the issue and it begins to change. You will have the opportunity to try new approaches, listen to your self-talk and break free of self imposed limitation.

The belief “I am unworthy” leads to procrastination. Seek fulfillment now, from where you are with what you have. This moment is providing the opportunity to receive the love which rains down upon you from all dimensions.

Everyone struggles with unworthiness at some point in their journey. The ego will find a reason to hold on to frustration rather than experiencing the present moment joyfully. Don’t wait for life to fall into place before you choose to be happy. You have the power to create whatever experience you wish.

The World Needs You

“The path to love requires open-hearted attention to the very things that seem to block our way to it.”
~Ezra Bayda~

All change begins within. When we consciously bring the light of awareness to the challenges of our lives, we begin to recognize the illusions from which they arise. Transformation occurs as we dissolve our self-imposed limitations and boundaries, strip away any preferences that have crystallized into demands and enter into the stillness of the Now.

The ego will tell you that you must work with the other in order for things to change. Talk, expectation, desire, compromise, blaming and justification simply tie you in deeper to the egoic mechanisms of the mind.

As a spiritual seeker, it’s important to realize that everything is your path of awakening. Don’t bury the lesson underneath your fear, simply keep bringing the light of awareness to it. This is the slow transformative path to freedom.

The world needs you to be your beautiful, unique self. You bring something imperative to our collective experience. Rather than limiting that unique expression by trying to keep everyone else happy, seeking inner happiness and balance will allow your joy to transform the world around you.

Be The Light

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
~Martin Luther King Jr.~

Change how you see everything and everyone around you. All are our brothers and sisters in this dance of life. Nothing is separate. Our role is to be the loving witness of experience, bringing light and consciousness to the collective energy of the planet. Be motivated. Be magnificent. This is your moment to shine.
We are called upon to be conscious of the energy we bring into our life situations. Mastery simply means that we are willing to take responsibility for our actions knowing that we have a definitive impact on those around us. Each of us plays a role in the collective awakening of humanity. Some heal through adversity, some through loving example and teaching, while others simply bring light and kindness into daily activity. Find your truth and live it to the best of your ability.
Allow light to flow into everything you do. When you direct energy with the intention of sharing kindness and compassion, you bring something beautiful into being. You never know when your presence or loving action will be the miracle that changes someone’s outlook.

Endings

“Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.”
~Rumi~

Growth and change may involve endings as part of the cycle of new beginnings and transformation. We must be willing to let go of what we have outgrown, honor the passage through the unknown and create peacefulness in our experience each step of the way.

When you choose to relate to life from the expansive mind of the Divine (rather than through the limitation of ego), it becomes possible to walk in spacial awareness in the present moment. Here we can choose to simply be at peace, stepping out of conflict and into communion.

There is no future, only this beautiful moment exists. No matter what twists and turns you’ve experienced on the journey so far or what stories you’ve lived, you can step into empowerment Now.

Spiritual practice is about consciously choosing to enter into love – not romantic love, but the deep and empowering love that is the true nature of your being. From this space of awareness each step brings the joy of relating to life with a open heart.

Inspiration

“If you can tune into your purpose and really align with it, setting goals so that your vision is an expression of that purpose, then life flows much more easily.”
~Jack Canfield~
Inspiration… what inspires you to keep moving forward in the face of opposition? What inspires you to turn and confront your fears or walk into the unknown? What inspires someone to embark upon a new way of being? Contrast.
The contrasts that we encounter in life call upon us to become more clear about what we personally desire to achieve. By design, in a situation filled with contrasting elements, we formulate an idea of what is fulfilling and what is depleting. This clarity, in turn, sparks the inspiration to make a change.
Many times we may not know exactly how to create the change. In the beginning it feels overwhelming to step into the unknown – but all that is required is movement. Sometimes the only clarity we have initially is that a change is needed, and that’s fine. As we step from a toxic situation, space is created and that often allows us to understand the next step… and the next. With each step forward the layers of restriction or old programming are stripped away.
Embrace the lessons that contrast offers. Honor it as a form of spiritual instruction which allows you to become the conscious creator of your life. This deliberate manifestation is liberating and unlocks the mysteries and subtleties of our amazing playground. If there is unhappiness arising within you, make a point to do something different to shift the energy and see what happens.

Evolve or Repeat…

“Residing fully in the present moment allows the unconditioned energy of life to flow through the conditioned body and mind. The willingness to simply rest in the physical experience of your life is the key to spiritual transformation.”
~Ezra Bayda~
This planet is a playground of discovery and every moment provides an opportunity to learn something new. No matter how it appears, we are all engaged in the same journey of awakening. Each path is unique. Each soul is expressing the energy of the Divine in the way most appropriate for them. With this in mind, cultivate patience, compassion and acceptance. This moment is filled with infinite possibilities. Evolve or repeat…
Be patient with those who grace your life. Keep planting seeds of kindness and tend them with joy. Any experience could be the catalyst that moves an awakening soul in a new direction. Most suffering is self-created; however, it plays an important role in spiritual development and leads to transformation. While it can be challenging to watch someone you love hurt themselves with unconscious repetition, keep in mind that their challenges are required for their growth.
As we evolve, we are more capable of learning without a catastrophe to push us into new areas of awareness. See yourself as a lifetime student of love. As you continue to awaken, you’ll see more clearly and approach your life experience with grace and empowerment.

Change

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”
~Socrates~
Many people resist change; however, growth is one of the great blessings of life. As we transition from one phase to the next we expand our experience. If you have mastered some aspect of your life, consider starting something new. The old way of being will benefit as well.
Loss is a powerful realm of self-exploration. Losing someone you love and enjoy in your life can create a sense of despair; however, it’s important to remember that this physical experience is temporary and fleeting. The soul connection continues throughout myriad settings and incarnations. Those you have loved will often choose to act as spirit guides until you gather again to plan the next adventure.
Change creates space in which something new can emerge. As you age, instead of resisting, consider embracing the aging process. There are many lifetimes where we do not have the opportunity to enjoy the wisdom age can bring, the acceptance that comes from new limitations or the quietness of being. We enter a unique vibration of wisdom at age 54. Ages 54-81 are considered a time of introspection where we ponder death and the immortality of the soul as we build a bridge between the physical and the Oneness that connects us.
