Helplessness

Choose to see the perfection in the imperfection.

“We dread the helplessness of losing control. Yet freedom lies in recognizing the reality that some things are ever beyond our control – the only option is to make peace with helplessness itself.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Intense change is a shock to the system. Just as a loud noise can immediately jolt you from sleep into wakefulness, so too can unexpected events propel you into spiritual awakening.
All I look out my window, I see the night on fire. Knowing that all is perfect, all I can do is move into acceptance and readiness. The possible need to evacuate prompts us to re-examine what is truly important as we gather loved ones together.
Challenges provide an opportunity to come together, to love one another and see beyond perceived differences. So, like many, I walk the paradoxical line between readiness and trust that all is well.
Today my intention is to be at peace and say “Yes” to life.

Initiation

Resisting the dark passage of initiation will create imbalance and crisis.

“All deaths, all endings, are a passage to the next beginning. The first law of thermodynamics states that energy can be changed from one form to another, but it can neither be created nor destroyed. Once we understand that all death is merely a transition into a different form of life, change ceases to be so frightening.”
~Alberto Villoldo~

Each of us must walk our own path of initiation. The loss of a loved one, relationship, health, identity or dream forces us to enter a dark night of the soul. Challenges promt us to enter places we would never choose to go on our own. They allow us to discover our strength and learn how to access our inner wisdom. Eventually, we emerge blinking into the sunlight, changed, the dark passage now a piece of our history.
Those who have been tempered by challenging experiences have a sense of empowerment. You can recognize your ability to face the shocks of life with a quiet sense of acceptance and no longer see loss as wrong or punishment. Your courageousness becomes an inspiration.
Today my intention is to honor all paths as sacred.

Blaming

Be willing to take complete responsibility for your own joy.

“Blaming is an addiction. Justifying ourselves can keep us lost in our stories for hours, days, and even years. Blaming puts the focus on the perceived faults of the other and lets us evade the necessity of directing our attention inward. Blame always separates, always disconnects. Overcoming addiction to blaming is an absolute prerequisite to experiencing the connectedness that is the essence of who we are.”
~Ezra Bayda~

The solution to any challenge lies in taking personal responsibility. The ego will seek to hold on to resentment, perhaps tell the story to others (hoping to get support for the perceived wrong/judgment/interpretation) or replay the incident in the mind. The spiritual seeker seeks instead to end any altercation with kindness, compassion, love and forgiveness.

Mastery is taking complete responsibility for whatever unfolds in our experience as well as how we choose to respond. It calls upon us to return to grace again and again knowing that the practice is the journey. Decide to be the first to step out of the cycle of drama and blame and instead, become one who chooses to bring love and kindness to the present moment.
Today my intention is to sow seeds of love where there is hate, have compassion for others who are lost in dysfunction and be a light in the darkness.

Opening to receive

This is the moment of renewed clarity, opening and awareness.
“The more Light you have, the better you can see what is trivial and outmoded in your conditioning.”
~Ralph Blum~
The light of consciousness dispels the darkness that obstructs some aspect of your life situation. When you choose to open to receive, it is ready to pour into you. Utilize your relationships to heighten your awareness. Seek to cultivate the art of love for you are the Universe in motion.

We are participating in a collective shift of energy. Joyousness illuminates our ability to see clearly and this new clarity may call upon you to shift direction and move into new experiences. Ask, “What do I have to offer?” and then allow love to lead the way.
Today my intention is to receive instruction from the Divine. I am a lifetime student of love.

Oneness with all life

Live gently.

“As we feel the pain that all people feel in facing an uncontrollable world, compassion naturally arises – even for our ‘enemies.’ ”
~Ezra Bayda~

Collectively, much of humanity is absorbed in the mundane, obsessed with appearances and the unfolding dramas around them and have forgotten or neglected the only thing that matters – awakening to the truth of who we truly are. Each of us is a fragment of the infinite Oneness of the Divine. Our journey here was intended to utilize forgetfulness to facilitate the joy of awakening.

See if you can see past the roles that people play (both consciously and unconsciously). Look deeper to connect with the soul of another and interact with them from a higher level of consciousness. Consider this: all definitions create limitation. See if you can stop defining yourself and others. Instead, operate as a field of awareness, bringing the vastness of soul connection into play.

When faced with opposition, remember that the other is acting from a place fear and has lost touch with the deeper perfection of life. This may foster compassion rather than anger. Thus, your actions will be based upon love, balance and perspective.
Today my intention is to follow the Zen adage: Don’t seek the truth. Just cease to cherish opinions.

Disruption

Life’s disruptions reveal your strengths.

“…something very beautiful happens to people when their world has fallen apart: a humility, a nobility, a higher intelligence emerges at just the point where our knees hit the floor.”
~Marianne Williamson~

Acceptance is saying “Yes” to life. It is not dependent upon liking what is unfolding, rather, it is an inner awareness that releases the ingrained habit of struggle and allows you to step into the present moment with power and grace.

You are much more than this body or this experience. You are a vast, infinite energy that is in the process of discovery. Simultaneously unique and part of the Oneness that connects us, we are here to discover how to live from the heart.

The purpose of the human existence is to experience every facet of life. So, lifetime after lifetime we play in the world of form. We interact with one another as lovers, enemies, teachers, family and friends in order to discover compassion. Our challenges send us on new roads of adventure and discovery. When you are ready to learn, you’ll find that everyone and everything is your teacher. Your unique way of being in the world will help you to access your inner wisdom.

Today my intention is to bring a higher awareness to my life situation.

Buddhist prayer of forgiveness

Forgiveness is releasing your attachment to resentment.

“Looked at from a spiritual standpoint, our discomfort in any given situation provides a signal that we are out of alignment with spiritual law and are being given an opportunity to heal something.”
~Colin Tipping~

As long as there is one person whom you can’t forgive, there is still work to be done. Every circumstance in our experience has meaning and purpose. The small injustices, the betrayals and lingering disappointments all point to aspects of ourselves that need to be cleared in order for us to be free.

Those who challenge you the most on the physical plane love you the most on a soul level. They are willing to risk losing your love and your goodwill to assist you in the most profound ways. Healing requires that we become consciously aware of our wounds. What better way than to generate an emotional upset that temporarily clouds your mind and your experience of joy? It grabs your attention and takes over.

The moment you recognize that you are behaving in a unconscious manner, you become more conscious. Now you have the ability to shift your thoughts and attention toward balance and healing. Bless the challenges of your life for they take you places you would never dare to walk on your own and ultimately lead you to mastery, insight and a deeper experience of love.
Today my intention is to transform shadows by shining the light of awareness.

Inspiration

Seek to be inspired, enchanted and amazed.

“There’s a voice in the Universe entreating us to remember our purpose, our reason for being here now in this world of impermanence. The voice whispers, shouts, and sings to us that this experience – of being in time space and time – has meaning.”
~Wayne Dyer~

What is the driving force of your life? You can choose to be inspired. Your birthright is to thrive, to be joyous, to discover how to live balanced and peacefully.

From a young age, we absorb conditioning that blinds us to life’s beauty. We are bombarded with violence in our art, sports and news reporting. Is it any wonder that it is now rising to the surface? Collectively, I believe we are engaged in the process of facing our shadow so that it can be healed.

Many believe that hatred is a necessary part of life. They fear people and things that are different and see any challenge to the status quo as something to be conquered. The only danger we face is the danger of losing compassion for one another.

Love resides at the core of all things – love, or a call to love. Seek to remove low energy vibrations from your personal experience. Cultivate a sacred space and purposely be conscious of what you’ll allow in your world. This calls upon us to break free from what is considered the norm and choose to experience the miracle of life in a way that is engaging and inspirational.

Today my intention is to live in the realm of infinite possibility.

Finding your purpose

Every moment provides a wonderful opportunity to discover your own true nature.

“When contemplating what our life’s work might be, we are often driven by our attachment to security. Perhaps the one question we don’t ask often enough is ‘What do I have to offer?'”
~Ezra Bayda~

For those in the process of discovery, still seeking your purpose or your direction, I salute you. The willingness to embark upon the path of transformation ensures that you will find it. The road may be long. It may cause you to pivot again and again as you explore the possibilities that sing your name, but that is the process of awakening.

Do not be discouraged. Your challenges will temper your abilities. Your disappointments will teach you how to be strong, to rebuild and to step out of limiting patterns. Eventually, you will simply discover what makes your heart sing as your life becomes a melody of joy and celebration.

Today my intention is to help create a world where it is safe to love one another.

How triggers help us to heal

Chakra Healing
Awakening is a constant process of feeling, observing and releasing.
“Mindfulness and meditation lead you gradually toward the four pillars of life: true work, true play, true study and true rest.”
~Jose Stevens~
When the soul is ready to work on a particular issue, a flare of energy attracts others to come and assist with the process of healing. Their role is to behave in a manner that brings the issue to the surface, so the process of getting triggered by someone is actually a gift of love.

The unhealed wounds we carry silently control our lives. We may often bury them under work, drama, busyness or by focusing on helping others; however, they are powerful even when dormant.

Once the trigger occurs and you’re feeling angry, sad, disappointed or reactive, notice it! See how quickly you can bring your attention to the thoughts that are guiding your actions in the present moment. They will give you an idea of what is ready to be healed. Awareness begins the process. Sit with the feeling without taking action. Shine the light of consciousness upon it without inner judgment. Visualize releasing the energy into the earth and replacing it with stillness. You may notice that if action is still needed, it may be the exact opposite of what the reactive mind wanted to do. Thus, mindfulness opens the way to peace in the present moment.
Today my intention is to take responsibility for my own joy.
