The Life You Create

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

At any given moment, infinite patterns are developing because of energy you send out into the Universe, and you are living proof of the miraculous at work. This “behind the scenes” movement of energy often takes some time to be revealed, recognized and appreciated.

When you start paying attention, you’ll discover the threads that weave the tapestry of your life. Consciously participate by going deeper into the present moment, notice what you hear, feel, smell, touch and see. Turn off the mind and simply notice what is around you. Recognize that whatever you place your attention upon becomes more prominent in your experience.
Notice coincidences. The more rare the coincidence, the stronger the message for you. Observe your life. Journal about your experiences or replay your day as you fall asleep. Watch it like a movie – no judgment, just be the witness. Your dreams may connect the dots and provide more insight.
You are a vibrant participant in the dance of existence and there is far more to life than meets the eye. Live with an open heart and create space in which transformation can occur.

Using Gratitude to Dispel Fear

“Fear is the destructive energy in man. It withers the mind, it distorts thought, it leads to all kinds of extraordinarily clever and subtle theories, absurd superstitions, dogmas, and beliefs.”
~Jiddu Krishnamurti~
Fear is pervasive. It heightens a sense of anxiety and doubt while blinding us to the beauty inherent in the present moment. Observe all marketing, click bait, news stories and gossip and you’ll notice fear is often at the core.
With a multitude of available energies constantly in flux, we have the ability to choose which we will focus upon. Gratitude is transformative. Like a muscle, it gets easier to access the more that it is utilized.
Practice rising above fear in its various forms. Notice when you begin to label, compare, seek out perceived flaws or close yourself off. Purposely shift to an open stance, opening the heart chakra. This will affect you mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually in miraculous ways. This is your moment to shine and you can give yourself the gift of freedom. There are always 10,000 things for which you can be grateful.
Be aware. Be present. You are safe. Love rains down upon you from all dimensions. Are you willing to receive it?

Rising Above Thought

“Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh and the greatness which does not bow before children.”
~Khalil Gibran~

We have the opportunity for expansive growth in this moment. By choosing not to be offended by anyone or anything, by releasing hurt and resentment, by rising above the mechanisms of the mind, we create space in which a transformation can occur.

Set yourself free from all fear and limitation. Recognize that your interpretation of the world is a reflection of your own level of consciousness and be willing to learn from any challenges that arise. Everything serves a specific purpose on your journey of discovery.

I am forever grateful and humbled when circumstances show me ways in which I limit myself. As a lifetime student of love, I am willing to explore its nuances no matter how they are presented. The willingness to release judgment and move into acceptance is a lifelong process.

The more consciousness you bring to a situation, the more you’ll be able to recognize the inherent possibilities it contains. The awakening spirit is simply willing to explore the unknown rather than continuing to repeat old patterns.

Contrast

“May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder.”
~John O’Donohue~
The depths and nuances of your many experiences have shaped your interpretation of life. Contrasts teach us about various perceptions until we come to reside deeply rooted in stillness with the understanding of completeness.
Allow yourself the gift of emotion, for even in the deepest sorrow there is beauty to be discovered. When energy flows through the heart chakra we are transformed. Expansion comes through both our tears and our joy, and the process of discovery calls upon us to connect with one another in this very human way.
As we awaken, we naturally bring greater consciousness to our life situation. We learn how to observe ourselves without judgment, and in doing so, utilize the highs and lows we experience as stepping stones to awareness, peace and empowerment.
The joyful heart is not one without pain. It simply is. No matter what unfolds, we ultimately find that love resides at the core of all things. You bring something unique and beautiful to the world that is ready to be expressed. Embrace your humanness. You are a bridge between the spiritual and the mundane.

Walk Gently

“Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet.”
~Thich Nhat Hanh~
To live in alignment with life, we must first remove anything that blocks us from living in a way that is empowered and accepting. The spiritual path calls upon us to dissolve the ego, rise above the mundane and cultivate trust. There are many layers to this work and countless roads to enlightenment. As you explore the various teachings that ignite your spirit, your willingness to learn will draw what is needed to you.
Walk gently upon the earth and listen to the prompting of your inner guidance. Celebrate your breakthroughs and learn from the challenges that arise. Everything works toward your highest good – always. With this in mind, fear departs as we take a greater role in what we choose to create and how we interpret the circumstances in which we find ourselves.
This never ending process of awakening is filled with opportunity, for as you change, the world around you is transformed. Seek to discover the language of your heart. See each moment only as an opportunity to shine. Messages from the Divine are everywhere and infinite gifts of love are waiting to be discovered.

Space in Togetherness

“But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: but let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.”
~Kahlil Gibran~

Choose to bring an unprotected heart to your meeting place.

Love empowers us to discover who we are in the presence of another. As we release limiting beliefs, heal old emotional wounds and come to realize our own value, we cease seeking outside validation. Love is transformed from ego-driven neediness into healthy, supportive interactions.

Everyone in your life is in a continual process of growth and one of the greatest challenges is to drop your own expectations and attachments. Your willingness to allow those you love to learn their lessons in their own way creates space where transformation can occur.

Ram Dass once said, “We are all just walking each other home.” Whether someone graces your life for a moment or for many years, simply love them as fellow travelers. Should your paths diverge, be grateful for the aspects of the journey you have shared and all that you have learned together.

Passion and Purpose

“We are all capable of living each day with a fiery passion and sense of purpose that radiates in our smile and voice.”
~Robert Cheeke~
Passion is the fire that sparks movement, experience, and ultimately, wisdom. Since our only true purpose is to awaken, why not make the journey of discovery playful – a celebration of joy?  Life will always present contrasting experiences. We can choose to approach challenges with an open heart and bring compassion into our expression of being.
The paradox of human experience calls upon us to simultaneously be sympathetic and helpful to those who are in pain while consciously keeping ourselves balanced. Reactivity brings energy to lower vibrations. We simply cannot be as effective in a state of reaction as we are when aligned with our passion, purpose and inner wisdom.
The key is to appreciate the beauty in each moment. To live deeply immersed in the Now brings a sense of joy into the daily activities of your life. Then, whatever actions you choose to take will be infused with the wholeness of your spirit. This is the process of transforming your life into an empowered dance of awakening.

Be The Change

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
~Albert Einstein~

Transformation begins within and all that we experience is a reflection of our inner state of consciousness. Notice what triggers you, observe the reaction with kindness and non-judgment, and then go inward with loving, ruthless honesty.

We tend to react to attributes that we carry. The reaction is an indication that you are ready for change. That emotional moment is your point of power. Immediately notice what arises. The ego-generated story or interpretation is a distraction that you can choose to use as a spring-board of awakening.

Consciously bring aspects that you wish to see into your own expression of life. If you desire to feel safe, drop all judgment so that others feel safe with you. When tired of gossip, speak with kindness. Should you notice others acting out angrily or with impatience, slow down and be fully present. Your light is where transformation begins.

Make a commitment to yourself to honor your changes as sacred. Each layer of patterning that you remove reveals sparkling aspects of your soul that are ready to shine. Be playful and self-aware as you expand your experiences. You have the ability to create beautiful changes in your experience.

Change

“No one can tell what goes on in between the person you were and the person you become. No one can chart that blue and lonely section of hell. There are no maps of the change. You just come out the other side.
Or you don’t.”
~Stephen King~
Challenges awaken the desire for change. In the midst of disruption unhealed wounds or repressed energies rise to the surface. They get in our face until we cannot ignore the need to take action. Throughout this process one might experience a dissolution of the ego. Fear arises as the ego perceives its total annihilation. Our role, as awakening souls, is to have the fortitude to turn inward to face our shadows. Only then can we emerge transformed, as a butterfly from the chrysalis.
Each person’s journey is unique. The changes are typically so profound that we can barely remember the person we were. The old fears and intensities fade into the past and become part of our story of awakening.
We all share in this process of transformation, collectively as well as personally. Have compassion for those who are caught in the realm of resistance or reactivity. Be patient with yourself when you miss the mark.
The journey ultimately leads to love and oneness. Do your best, act with integrity and accept what is. The way will make itself known.

Healing Waters

“As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can.”
~John Muir~
Stillness is a wonderful way to bring yourself back into balance. Wherever you are, access Presence by quieting the mind and be attentive to the world around you. Just listen without judgment or interpretation and enter Zen from there. This moment can be transformative if you allow it to be.
The language of life is a vibrant expression of love and possibility. Each of us plays an integral role in our collective symphony and we have much to learn from one another. Empowerment is taking conscious responsibility for how we choose to be in the world – how we respond, participate, create or grow.
There is an aspect of you that quietly waits, a gentleness that knows no limitation. The ancient axiom “Know Thyself” is a reminder to seek peace and potential within. There is a fathomless, inner dimension that awaits discovery. Nothing matters more than your state of consciousness in this moment.
