Challenges Expand Consciousness

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”
~Paulo Coelho~

The soul seek to expand into new areas of awareness and the challenges we face, both personal and collective, play a powerful role in our development. Your attention begins the process of transformation. Bring a gentle self-awareness to the patterns that repeat and purposely seek to change your approach. When you break free of habitual responses, something new begins to emerge.

The tools that you have cultivated along the way become stronger when you have the opportunity to consciously utilize them. Rather than resist the tidal flow of energy, seek to flow with it and face any challenges that arise when they are still small.  See the field of life as a place to observe wisdom in action. Your higher self is guiding you throughout the process of awakening.

Acceptance

“The moment that judgement stops through acceptance of what it is, you are free of the mind. You have made room for love, for joy, for peace.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

When you utilize everything in your experience as a vehicle for awakening, you step into empowerment. Acceptance has nothing to do with liking something; however, it allows you to handle any challenges you may face with grace.

Resistance causes pain. Conversely, acceptance creates a state of willingness to address the situation with a greater degree of clarity. There is nothing wrong with having preferences. We would all prefer that life flows smoothly, to see those we love thrive, to feel appreciated and understood. But when we demand that life conforms to our desire, we miss opportunities to witness consciousness in action.

As you awaken, you’ll find that you handle discomfort with greater ease and humor. While frustration may arise, it no longer takes control of the experience you are having. Observe it, work with it and it will dissipate. The way forward will make itself known. Observe how you respond to unexpected setbacks or challenges. The amount of disappointment you feel indicates the amount of attachment you held – and that is something that is in your control.

Self-Knowledge

“The more you know yourself, the more clarity there is. Self-knowledge has no end – you don’t come to an achievement, you don’t come to a conclusion. It is an endless river.”
~Jiddu Krishnamurti~
The challenges that we face ultimately bring out the best in us. Through trial and error we learn to face our shadows and incrementally awaken. This is a never-ending process. The journey is not only long, but vast as we wander the playground of experience.
The point of power is always in the present moment. When we can consciously approach the Now with a sense of awareness and balance, we can trust that the future will tend to itself. Seeing yourself clearly, it becomes possible to combine the wisdom borne of experience with self-awareness and transcend the mundane. No one can walk this journey for you, it is personal and unique.
Everything offers an opportunity to awaken. Look into yourself with love and patience and know that there will be times when you miss the mark and others when you shine with the brilliance of a thousand suns. Trust the processes of your awakening. There is far more to life than meets the eye.

Simply Present

“There is no greatness where there is not simplicity, goodness, and truth.”
~Leo Tolstoy~
Awareness is the removal of distractions. The human condition is to complicate; however, the role of the spiritual seeker is to see through the distractions to the simplicity of a joyful life. All that you seek is already within you. There is no need for outside validation.
Our society is primarily made up of young and mature souls. Young souls seek power, fame, money and control. Mature souls seek to redress the imbalances from previous selfish young soul lives through healing, family and community, using excessive drama as a tool of learning. It can be challenging, as old souls, to stay true to oneself in the face of such limited perception but that is a powerful aspect of our journey.
See if you can simplify your life, expectations and desires. Find joy in the little things. Give when you can. Love with all your heart. Allow your presence to make a difference by planting seeds of kindness and giving them time and space to grow.
The mind may want you to believe that such an approach to life is boring, but you’ll discover that it is a vibrant, inclusive, limitless, empowered existence… beautiful in its simplicity.

You Hold The Key

“I’ve worked all my life on the subject of awareness, whether it’s awareness of the body, awareness of the mind, awareness of your emotions, awareness of your relationships, or awareness of your environment. I think the key to transforming your life is to be aware of who you are.”
~Deepak Chopra~
You hold the key to your own transformation. All that you need is already within you, but without self-awareness, the way forward appears hidden. As you uncover new facets of your inner wisdom, you’ll change how you view and respond to life. With each spiral of energy, it’s possible to cultivate greater awareness of old beliefs and interpretations that have held you back and begin the process of releasing all that blocks your perception of freedom.
If you feel misunderstood, go within. If you feel rejected, go within. As you become more self-aware, you’ll notice that others’ opinions or actions have less and less impact on your sense of joy and well-being. From this space of awareness it’s possible to fully participate in life in a way that is healthy, empowered and purposeful.
