Soul Connections

“We all are so deeply interconnected; we have no option but to love all. Be kind and do good for any one and that will be reflected. The ripples of the kind heart are the highest blessings of the Universe.”
~Amit Ray~

When we meet someone with whom our soul has shared history, there’s a powerful moment of recognition and attraction. There is an immediate response and we feel the need to interact with one another.  Pay attention to these soul connections – they often portend the beginning of a karmic contract.

Love resides at the core of the relationships, dramas and stories that we experience, though at times it can be hard to recognize. When someone is excessively challenging, when you’re engaged in loss or struggle, the immediate visceral response feels much stronger than a loving soul connection, but it is there nonetheless. As we process the lesson and discover our strengths, we will have a better understanding of the roles played by those who have challenged us and a greater appreciation for the nuances and beauty of our unique journey.

Those who challenge you the most on the physical plane love you the most on a soul level. They are willing to risk losing your affection and goodwill in this lifetime in order to spark expanded consciousness and awareness.

Space in Togetherness

“But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: but let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.”
~Kahlil Gibran~

Choose to bring an unprotected heart to your meeting place.

Love empowers us to discover who we are in the presence of another. As we release limiting beliefs, heal old emotional wounds and come to realize our own value, we cease seeking outside validation. Love is transformed from ego-driven neediness into healthy, supportive interactions.

Everyone in your life is in a continual process of growth and one of the greatest challenges is to drop your own expectations and attachments. Your willingness to allow those you love to learn their lessons in their own way creates space where transformation can occur.

Ram Dass once said, “We are all just walking each other home.” Whether someone graces your life for a moment or for many years, simply love them as fellow travelers. Should your paths diverge, be grateful for the aspects of the journey you have shared and all that you have learned together.

The Beauty of Contrast

“A flower’s appeal is in its contradictions — so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect.”
~Terri Guillemets~
This plane of experience is all about contrasts. Every situation we encounter contains both light and dark, intensity and gentleness, sadness and joy. We must learn the delicate balance of dancing between the two without getting lost in the maze of illusion. Regardless of how it appears, love resides at the core of all things.
Life is a tapestry of dark and light, made even more beautiful by the contrast and creative way it unfolds. To dance in the light of love is to honor whatever arises in the present moment and greet it with open arms.

The desire to heal and share the knowledge we’ve acquired expands the ability to cultivate compassion for one another. We have a unique opportunity to discover the dreams and attributes we share and weave them into an exquisite work of art.

Whatever is experienced in the field of Now is simply that which is required for your growth. Observe the flow of life, your response to it and how you process this information. As you evolve, you’ll bring this sense of awareness and balance into each and every moment.

Universal Love

“The mantra – sat chit ananda – tells us that our soul is that place which is spontaneously love, knowingness, and bliss.”
~Deepak Chopra~

Sutra: Sat Chit Ananda (saht chit ah-NAN-dah)
Meaning: My inner dialogue reflects the fire of my soul

When your self talk is aligned with the love of the Divine, you are in tune with universal consciousness. Your inner wisdom, grace and acceptance create an aura of empowerment that emanates from you in myriad ways.

This power, unlike ego-generated self confidence, is not based upon outside factors and therefore is not reliant upon them. Money, relationships, health and experiences can then ebb and flow. Fear dissipates and life becomes an exploration of experience.

Loving and supportive inner dialogue helps us break free from old patterns of limiting thoughts and beliefs. It promotes spiritual development and accelerates positive change.

Observe the ego when it arises. Bless it for the lessons it has come to teach and then choose to see beyond it to the fire of your soul. Quieting the voice of ego will allow the vibrant light of your inner beauty to shine through.

Wisdom

“Wisdom consists in doing the next thing you have to do, doing it with your whole heart and find delight in doing it.”
~Meister Eckhart~

The dance of awakening is a beautiful synergy of opposites. We learn to navigate the illusion of the physical world while integrating the limitless possibility of the spiritual. Honor the movement of awareness as it weaves its magic in your experience. Learn to be comfortable with the unknown. Your true sacred nature resides within that field of limitless potential.

Our human experience is one of paradox – everything is messed up, yet everything is ok. When we pull back from the stories of the mind and become loving observers, we discover the ability to live consciously within the paradox.
We are One, yet each of us has a unique path of awakening and each of us must do our own work. Contrasts are required: there is no love without hate, no light without the darkness, no awakening without sleep.
Learn to see the value in everything. See yourself as an infinite source of energy experiencing the illusion of separation. Know that your journey is infinite and that you will never stop learning. But also, know that you are Divine, a master in the process of remembering. Human perception is small and limited… life and love are immense.

Inner Freedom

“I don’t mind what happens. That is the essence of inner freedom.
It is a timeless spiritual truth: release attachment to outcomes,
deep inside yourself, you’ll feel good no matter what.”
Jiddu Krishnamurti

Have you ever been overwhelmed by a beautiful day? Have you allowed yourself to sit and just be, appreciated the breeze as it touched your skin or loved a moment of stillness in the midst of a busy world? That is reality. That sense of wonder which connects you to life is available in every situation. Underneath the chaos of the mind lies an eternal reservoir of grace that you can drink from anytime you wish.

The light of your consciousness transforms whatever it shines upon. Periodically take a moment to bring your attention to the Now and reside fully within it. Even the most mundane aspects of life will sparkle with brilliance and you will be able to recognize the sacredness of your own divinity.

This moment provides a wonderful new opportunity to see yourself clearly. Bask in the radiance of the light which shines through you. You are love in motion.

Healing Waters

“As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can.”
~John Muir~
Stillness is a wonderful way to bring yourself back into balance. Wherever you are, access Presence by quieting the mind and be attentive to the world around you. Just listen without judgment or interpretation and enter Zen from there. This moment can be transformative if you allow it to be.
The language of life is a vibrant expression of love and possibility. Each of us plays an integral role in our collective symphony and we have much to learn from one another. Empowerment is taking conscious responsibility for how we choose to be in the world – how we respond, participate, create or grow.
There is an aspect of you that quietly waits, a gentleness that knows no limitation. The ancient axiom “Know Thyself” is a reminder to seek peace and potential within. There is a fathomless, inner dimension that awaits discovery. Nothing matters more than your state of consciousness in this moment.

Celebrate Friendship

“It is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving, caring human being.”
~John Joseph Powell~

Share your joy, your dance and your light with those who are ready to receive your beautiful energy. The art of friendship begins with gratitude and it must be a sharing. When you demonstrate love and friendliness toward all of life, it is reflected back to you in myriad ways.

The light of your consciousness transforms all that it shines upon. Rather than being trapped by neediness or desire, you become love and your love transforms the energy of those with whom you come in contact. We are merely reflections of one another.

In every relationship, allow enough room for the winds of heaven to dance in between you for these soul mates will cross your path again and again. When you come together, enjoy discovering who you are in the presence of the other and when you have time apart, celebrate the fact that your friendship is an expression of trust, harmony, innocence and sharing.

Insight Through Contrast

“The true miracle lies in our eagerness to allow, appreciate, and honor the uniqueness, and freedom of each sentient being to sing the song of their heart.”
~Amit Ray~

Spiritual awakening is a constant process of forgiveness. As long as there is still one person, government entity, business or circumstance that you can’t forgive, there is still work to be done. What if you chose to find one thing to appreciate about each person who has ever been a challenge in your life? What if you chose only to speak about that positive thing when prompted to discuss him or her. What do you think would happen?

Life is a blend of dark and light. The contrasts we experience provide insight and wisdom we could never access from a one dimensional vantage point. Everything is multi-faceted; therefore, there is always an opportunity to find the good, assimilate the lesson or cultivate new strength, no matter what the circumstance.

Love who you are at this moment with the understanding that you are a culmination of all that you have ever experienced. When we rise above the need to blame we free ourselves to consciously explore Oneness, love and connection.

Share Your Gifts

“The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind.”
~David Orr~

There has never been, nor will there ever be, someone with your unique way of being in the world. This is the moment to let yourself shine.

Sharing increases the energetic flow between the souls involved. There is an opening, a transcendence, that supersedes all else and together we create something entirely new. Thus, the most beautiful way to accelerate your own transformation is to honor your gifts by bringing them into the world of form.

When your focus shifts from what you can get from the world to what you can give, joy emanates from your very being. Your light begins to spark awareness in others. Your journey of awakening becomes an inspiration. Your laughter, a healing balm in a world that is often filled with uncertainty.

Each of us has a specific role to play in the expanding consciousness of which we are all a part. Let love guide you and honor your unique way of being in the world.
