Now

“Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

Practice listening. Observe without mentally labeling what you see. Choose to experience the sacred energy which flows through all life. It sounds simple, but active listening and observation call upon us to break free of thousands of years of human conditioning. When you strip away the cacophony, love is speaking through the stillness.

We have a role to play in the transformation of our collective consciousness. The moment you choose to approach situations differently, you create an opportunity for growth. This can only be accomplished by being present. If your mind is elsewhere – worrying about the future or carrying the past – you’ll be too distracted to see clearly.

Each of us is responsible for our own state of consciousness. In this moment, how peaceful are you? Resistance creates anxiety while acceptance opens us to receive grace. Cultivate your ability to accept what is and respond to life with inner awareness. Enlightenment is not something that you’ll experience at some point in the future. It is here Now.

Facing Our Shadows

When presented with our darkest moments, we have the opportunity to rise above. Your soul is ready to face whatever life offers. Challenging situations come into our experience when we have the spiritual tools and ability to handle them.
The true blockages we face are limiting beliefs about our own worthiness, strength, ingenuity and vision. Facing our shadows allows us to leave old baggage behind, take conscious action and break through to new levels of enlightenment.
Perhaps you have postponed changing because you were afraid to try something new. The Universe often has creative ways of propelling us into growth – life sometimes takes a turn into the unknown and we must either face it or remain stagnant. Fortunately, the soul desires to evolve. Faced with no other option, we walk forward.
These are the moments of transformation. Trust the processes of awakening and know that you have the fortitude to conquer your fear… not only facing it and conquering it, but shattering the old beliefs and patterns that created it in the first place. Then, the world opens and new experiences await. The gateways of knowledge and wisdom are open for those who are willing to step through.

Recognizing the Sacred

“When we resist change, it’s called suffering. But when we can completely let go and not struggle against it, when we can embrace the groundlessness of our situation and relax into its dynamic quality, that’s called enlightenment.”
~Pema Chödrön~
Imagine having the ability to send love out to all living beings in order to facilitate a space of enlightenment and wisdom. Imagine planting seeds that have the potential to shift our collective experience in such a way that we are all transformed. Imagine waves of energy emanating from you, little sparkles of light traveling through a grid of consciousness which enfolds us all.
During your next meditative moment, consider visualizing how such an action would look and feel to you. Would the energy emanate from your hands or your heart chakra, or perhaps an expansion of your auric field? What colors would represent healing? When you imagine it, it is already in motion.
The root cause of all harm is unconsciousness. We have the opportunity and ability to emit wisdom and light into the world, creating a space in which transformation can occur. Empowerment is purposely choosing to participate in our collective experience in a way that lifts one another up.

Compassion and Enlightenment

Kindness and awareness work together. Through awareness we understand the underlying beauty of everything and every being”
~Amit Ray~

Imagine having the ability to walk through the world untroubled, to tend to those in need while holding a higher frequency of love. Compassion sows the seeds of enlightenment and enlightenment brings greater compassion. The amplification of energy between these two forces allows us to explore life in a unique, empowered, and loving way.

The mantra Oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ is used to transform and awaken. It is said that this chant holds all the elements of Buddhist teaching. When you’re ready to release limitation and expand your awareness, this is a wonderful tool.

Awaken the love that is your infinite, true nature. Visualize it expanding outward with each breath. Allow it to create an atmosphere of peacefulness and harmony in your experience. Your Presence awakens the Presence in others.

We are the bridge between the mundane and the sacred. As we cultivate the ability to see through the illusions of separation we come to recognize the Oneness that connects us. Practice being aware of your state of consciousness and consciously send love outward whenever possible. It is always possible.

Honoring the Sacred

“Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh and the greatness which does not bow before children.”
~Khalil Gibran~
In each life there comes at least one moment which, if recognized and seized, transforms the course of that life forever. The awakening spirit brings a vitality of consciousness into each and every moment. When we approach life with the intention of honoring the sacred, the Divine is able to make itself known in miraculous ways.
Every path is unique. There is no guaranteed road-map to enlightenment; however, as you delve into the infinite, your path will certainly make itself known. Wisdom comes through exploration. Practice generosity, sharing mind, body and spirit without reservation or expectation and you will open portals of new experience.
Bring a sense of inner awareness to this moment and you will discover that the rising of consciousness changes how you view the world. The journey is a sacred place and by honoring the Now, we consciously move through the beautiful landscape of our souls awakening. Whenever you enter periods of movement and change, embrace the experience with a sense of adventure and discovery. This is your pilgrimage.

Be Still

“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.”
~Ram Dass~
You are the stillness in which life happens.
In stillness we can begin to sense the infinite. As a spiritual seeker, it’s important to learn how to quiet the mind. Within this space of infinite possibility, the quiet truth of your inner wisdom can make itself known.
The mind seeks to create a constant flow of thoughts, ideas and opinions. It fears the silence and fills that space with meaningless garble as a distraction. You are much more than your thoughts. You are a spark of the Divine which desires only to awaken to its infinite nature through the momentary illusion of human experience. As you learn to rise above thought, you will discover a lightheartedness and freedom that is astounding.
Enlightenment is learning to reside in the present moment as it is. Be still and listen to the wisdom of your soul.

The Role of Resistance

“Enlightenment is nothing more than the complete absence of resistance to what is. End of story.”
~Adyashanti~
As lessons unfold, your explorations will undoubtedly take you down new paths. Always seek the lesson, the beauty, the insight, for everything plays a role in the ongoing journey of your awakening.
As consciousness expands, the ego must learn to be more subtle. When you begin a process that is important to your development, distractions may arise. Resistance, whether internal or external, is a sign that you’re in the process of authentic change. Turn inward and face it directly knowing that the light of your consciousness is transformative.
Spiritual practice requires an openhearted acceptance of whatever unfolds in your experience. Acceptance lays a groundwork of peacefulness and empowerment that permeates all that you do. Begin with the premise that everything works toward your highest good and plays a specific role in your soul’s awakening.
Life-changing ideas are rarely heralded by a blaze of trumpets… sometimes they reside in a thought that pivots your direction. How you approach the present moment is the key – is it merely a means to an end, or are you celebrating your existence and the journey of your soul? Be led by joy.

Expanding Consciousness

“As we grow in our consciousness, there will be more compassion and more love, and then the barriers between people, between religions, between nations will begin to fall.”
~Ram Dass~

There is a consciousness arising within you. You have chosen to be here now, to read these words, to discover new ways of being, thinking and experiencing the essence of life.

The path of transformation is expanding consciousness as you become more aware. This beautiful energy is constant and always a part of you. It can become lost from time to time under the seemingly never-ending stream of input from the ego; however, by being fully present you can access it in any moment.

It’s one thing to look for enlightenment and peace within challenging situations; however, even greater depth can be achieved when you look to raising your frequency when things are going well… to ask “What’s next?”

You inner purpose is to awaken – nothing more. As you bring a constant spiritual approach to all that you do – looking for ways to connect with your own inner sense of joy, peace and delight – everything else will fall into place perfectly.

Quiet Moments

“How many times have you noticed that it’s the little quiet moments in the midst of life that seem to give the rest extra-special meaning?”
~Fred Rogers~

Our spiritual journey is accelerated when we bring a sense of inner awareness and consciousness into whatever the present moment has to offer. Rather than only setting aside specific moments for your enlightenment, scatter them all throughout your day. View consciousness as important as breathing until it becomes second nature. These moments of deep connection align you with the miraculous beauty of life.

Beauty lies in the gaps within the movement of space and time, in the realm of infinite possibility… and there you can find the beauty of your soul.

Periodically look around you and choose to fall in love. Go inward and honor yourself and your expression of the Divine as sacred. You are the bridge between the physical world and the infinite. Seeing this clearly is enlightenment.

There are many wonders waiting to be discovered. The myriad facets of your unique expression of life sparkle by reflecting the light around you. Remember to be patient and gentle with yourself and allow the joy of the journey to be your guide.

Challenges

“Awakening is not changing who you are, but discarding who you are not.”
~Deepak Chopra~
Challenges help us to discover aspects of ourselves that are ready to emerge. They often act as catalysts that prompt relationships to deepen into something beautiful, unique and full of love. When faced with hardship, be willing to receive support from those who offer it. We are not meant to be separate from one another. Our shared humanity creates ever-evolving connections that strengthen compassion, enlightenment and empowerment.
Know that your soul has agreed to participate in hardship because you are ready to release old energies and step into the fullness of who you are. We can choose to turn toward our challenges and shine the light of consciousness upon them. Awareness begins the process of transformation.
Above all else, accept what is with the realization that life is here to support your awakening. Create a foundation built upon the knowledge that you are right where you need to be in this moment. Choose to consciously walk forward and the way will make itself known. Something beautiful is ready to be discovered.
