The Potential Within

The Light in Your Hands

Artistry belongs to everyone.

It doesn’t require talent, training, an audience, or a finished product worthy of praise. Artistry begins the moment we take something living inside us and give it form.

We do this in more ways than we recognize. We cook. We garden. We arrange flowers. We hum while doing the dishes. We write in a journal, take photographs, decorate a room, move our bodies to music, shape clay, choose colors, tell stories, or make someone laugh.

Creation brings us into the present moment. The ego softens its grip as the senses awaken and the hands become involved. Something that had no language is given somewhere to go.

Grief can become color. Restlessness can become movement. Love can become food. Confusion can become lines on a page.

This is part of the healing energy of artistry: expression can come before understanding.

So many of us learned early to say, “I’m not creative,” when we were really taught that creativity would be judged by its result. Healing begins when we ask a different question.

Not, “Is this good?”

But, “How did I feel while I was making it?”

Creation is one of the ways we enter into communion with life. We become participants in the great creative current moving through everything.

Pick up the crayons. Plant something. Sing badly. Dance in the kitchen. Make the ridiculous little clay bird and let the making be enough.

In many healing traditions, the hands are understood as energetic gateways. When we create with intention, we can imagine light entering through the crown, moving through the heart, and flowing outward through the palms into whatever we touch.

For a moment, we stop trying to create and instead, allow the Divine to move through us as it will.

✨ Blessing ✨
May your hands remember what your mind has forgotten.
May creation open a portal back to yourself.
May joy find you in the making.
