The power of surrender is found in conscious neutrality. Surrender nullifies the energy exchange between psychic vampire and their intended victim. Remember that conflict is always based upon ego; therefore, when we remove ego from the equation, there is nothing for the other person to “gain” from you.
Once someone moves into reactivity, they become stuck in a web of resistance. Fear or anger becomes a driving force for the personality, and attachment to an desired outcome keeps the players intertwined – sometimes for years.
If there is an aspect of your life experience where peacefulness eludes you, consider how much energy you are giving away to the person or situation creating conflict. Is it worth it? Will draining your life-force get you the results you desire? Is the story more important than your joy? In the words of Byron Katie… “Who would you be without this story?”
Once you identify where the ego has attached, purposely move into surrender. Change your interpretation of the story. Re-frame the situation into something that brings insight that sparks growth rather than frustration. You have the power to change your experience into one of empowerment, wisdom, and joy.
