We all get to be young. Growing older is the privilege.
As a young woman, I once had a vision of myself as an old woman with silver hair, helping others navigate the journey. I fell in love with that image, though at twenty-three it seemed a world away.
Old souls often embrace aging differently. Many rush through childhood eager to create a life of their own choosing while discovering the quiet joy of becoming comfortable in their own skin.
And yet, our culture mourns the visible changes that come with age. Hair loses color and changes texture. The lines of the face begin to mirror the history of a life fully lived.
What if we changed the narrative?
To enter a state of sacred rebellion is to embrace your expression of life exactly as it is. Rather than seeing ourselves as older and less powerful, we can choose to honor the wisdom that comes through lived experience. We can celebrate the story written into our bodies and recognize the beauty of all that has brought us here.
The dance of awakening does not end with youth. In many ways, it deepens.
Perhaps the later years of life are an invitation to slow down, become present, and prepare for a conscious death. The life review begins naturally as wisdom expands through sharing, mentoring, storytelling, and love.
Growing older is not the loss of youth. It is the fulfillment of it.
✨Blessing✨
May you honor the wisdom your years have given you.
May you recognize the beauty of your unfolding story.
May you age with presence, courage, and deep self-love.
