Listen to Your Body

“Self care is so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.”
~Eleanor Brown~
It is often said that the body is a temple; however, I tend to see it more as a living, thriving ecosystem that mirrors our energetic state of health and well-being. It\’s important to listen to the messages of the body and address imbalances when they are small and more manageable.
There are seven main chakras that govern the physical experience. If one remains shut down or blocked for too long, the body will attempt to get your attention. Examples of this might be a sore throat when you are not communicating something that is important for you to say, heart issues when you are unable to give or receive love, earaches when you don\’t like what you are hearing, and so forth. Issues on the left side of the body represent imbalance regarding a woman in our lives, while the right side represents something needs to be addressed regarding a man.
There are certainly lifetimes when we choose to have health issues as part of our spiritual work or to create a karmic situation where we can receive health and assistance from another. If you have a good relationship with your body, you\’ll be better able to determine when it is attempting to draw your attention to an imbalance.
This is obviously a subject that is greatly nuanced, but if you feel compelled, you may wish to research on your own. Everything is a reflection of our inner state of consciousness. Love yourself enough to heed the body\’s messages.
