“Each of us chooses the tone for telling his or her own story. I would like to choose the durable clarity of a platinum print, but nothing in my destiny possesses the luminosity. I live among diffuse shadings, veiled mysteries, uncertainties; the tone of telling my life is closer to that of a portrait in sepia.”
~ Portrait in Sepia~
As I walked yesterday, fog immersed me and my morning journey felt alien, different. Breathtaking in its own unique way, the sepia-toned world was filled with haunting shades and distant sounds. I walked alone in the park, embracing the moment while appreciating the fleeting beauty.
Another person might have felt sad in the fog and the mist, but I was exhilarated. It filled me with wonder to experience a place I know and love with a new perception. Presence creates space that allows us to enjoy whatever life has to offer. All too soon, the sunshine broke through and dispelled the shadows. Life reclaimed its color and texture as the birds serenaded me home.
On one hand, it was a simple foggy moment. Experienced with depth and nuance, it became a magical odyssey, and for that, I am grateful.
