As consciousness expands, we learn to see through the mechanisms of the ego. It, too, experiences an evolution as it shifts and becomes more subtle to match our new energetic state, often disguising itself as knowing or certainty.
Learning the difference between discernment and judgment is a lifelong process. Judgment creates a blockage when it carries a story that labels or separates. It is often charged, urgent, and tightening, with the residue of fear or superiority woven throughout its expression. By contrast, discernment brings clarity and a quiet wisdom. It does not clamor to be heard or held in agreement. It arrives as an inner knowing without attachment—settled, spacious, and calm.
The body is a great barometer. A subtle contraction or expansion, a familiar twinge of pain that grabs one’s attention, or a feeling of peace around a decision—allow it to become your loving guide. The body rarely argues; it simply informs.
And perhaps the most important aspect of all is holding oneself with compassion when you miss the mark. When you own something, it cannot own you. Awareness dissolves identification, and each experience becomes a teacher rather than a verdict.
