Creativity as a Path to Spiritual Healing: Painting the Divine

In 2019, my spirit guides began prompting me to paint — a creative playground I hadn’t visited since childhood. A soul friend connected me with Whitney Freya, whose work blends artistry and spiritual practice, and a new chapter unfolded.

With excitement and passion, the paintings flowed. I had no plan, no agenda, only the joy of exploring color and canvas. One day, with several paintings spread across my office, the thought came: “These are cards.”

I continued to create until the energy slowed, signaling that the cycle was complete. When I sat down to write the companion book, I heard a voice whisper, “It’s already completed.” Hidden within years of channeled writings was the guidance that belonged with each image. Putting it all together felt like uncovering a gift a decade in the making.

Looking back, I can see the hand of the divine — gentle, playful, and insistent — guiding me into something I had never expected.

Healing Through Expression

Creativity doesn’t just release energy; it transforms it. In painting, I learned that healing could be lighthearted and joyful. Each brushstroke was a prayer, each splash of color an act of surrender.

Where music had given me voice and writing had taught me to listen, painting invited me to play. And in that playfulness, healing emerged. Even when my ego tried to interrupt with doubts and perfectionism, the act of creating brought me back to Presence.

This is the power of creative expression: it allows us to encounter our shadows, our hopes, and our divine spark — and to transform them into beauty.
