“To be a happy person, one has to drop all comparison. Drop all these stupid ideas of being superior or inferior. You are neither superior nor inferior. You are simply yourself! There exists no one like you, no one with whom you can be compared. Then suddenly, you are at home.”
Contentment is a byproduct of being at ease where you are. All those years of self-criticism did not bring happiness. Striving did not bring happiness. Only acceptance sets you free to embrace your journey.
No matter what unfolds in your experience, your consciousness determines how you will interpret and respond. Imagine yourself as empowered, kind, peaceful, open, expressive, creative and joyful. Can you see it? If you can see it, you can create it.
The task may appear daunting to those who are still deeply caught in distress. The way to begin is to observe, take ownership, change what you can and place your attention on the only thing that truly matters – your state of consciousness in this moment.
The ego says, “When my life falls into place, then I will be happy.” However, the converse is true. When you take yourself higher, life will meet you there.
