My approach to life has always leaned toward joy. With a natural optimism and a deep trust in “highest good,” I tend to view both my inner world and the world around me through a hopeful lens. That hasn’t made me immune to pain or loss, nor has it spared me from the challenges that touch us all. What it has given me is space — space to observe what arises, to work with it consciously, and to make the adjustments needed when I’m knocked off balance.
Years ago, I began playing with language as a way of softening life’s heavier moments. Small mistakes or egoic reactions became kerfuffles. Larger challenges—losing our home, facing significant tests—became moments of building character. These simple shifts helped me stay true to my joyful nature while honoring difficulty as a sacred opportunity for growth, awakening, and expansion.
It delights me to hear this language echoed back by clients and friends. When I ask, “How are you?” and the response is, “I’m building character,” I immediately understand that something real is happening — and that consciousness is present. There may be a challenge afoot, but there is also awareness. And to me, that is beautiful.
You might consider noticing the words you use when speaking about problems or heavy relationships. Habitual language can unknowingly feed energy into keeping a challenge in place. Small changes in wording can create an inner smile, a pause, or a reminder that more is unfolding on your behalf than you realize. Baby steps spark miracles. Tiny shifts set new energy in motion, easing old patterns held in the auric field.
Whether you’re building character personally or navigating our collective evolution, stay open to the gift within it all. Something beautiful is always at play. Conscious awareness teaches by example — and that is how we change the world… one kerfuffle at a time.
Blessing:
May your days be filled with joy and empowerment.
May you honor your path through Presence and blaze a trail of light.
And may your light-hearted awareness help you guide you through every facet of your life.
You are stronger than you know.
