I saw a thought-provoking sign this weekend – “When cruelty becomes normal, compassion looks radical.” And I pondered how things like Christ consciousness, evolved thinking, compassion, empathy and kindness are (in some circles) now considered evil or wrong. Even in the face of opposition, I will always seek to be a living embodiment of love.
The human experience vacillates between extremes as the pendulum swings. As older souls, we have greater ability to teach by example, be the change we wish to see, rise above the mechanisms of the mind and demonstrate what Oneness really is. Like all humans, sometimes we struggle. The ego gets the upper hand and we can become reactive; however, it’s powerful to remember that when we utilize the spiritual tools we have cultivated, we are transformed.
Don’t choose to be defined by outside factors. Know thyself – being aligned with this ancient wisdom allows you to be consistent in your actions, authentic with your words, and creates responses to life that are in alignment with your current state of consciousness. When in doubt, ensure that your decisions are based upon love, joy or enthusiasm rather than fear or lack. You can be a light in the darkness.
