The Potential Within

A Small Flame in An Ordinary Sky

Yesterday the sky surprised me.

I looked up and saw a small flame of color resting in the clouds. There was no rain, no dramatic storm, no obvious reason for it to be there. Just a sudden shimmer of gold and rose, hovering above the mountain long enough to make me stop, reach for my camera, and remember that wonder often arrives without explanation.

And then, just as quickly, it faded.

Maybe that was part of the teaching. Some moments are not meant to be held for long. They come to interrupt our thinking, soften our certainty, and return us to the living mystery of the world. We notice. We receive. We let them go.

It was nothing important, just a pause during a simple drive to the hardware store, yet it stopped our conversation. What began as, “Look, a tiny rainbow,” became something quieter. A small astonishment. A breath. A reminder.

Life is filled with these little invitations. Sparkles of magic woven through the day, calling us back from our busy thoughts and asking us to look up.

Perhaps wonder is not something we need to search for. Perhaps it is already here, waiting in the sky, in the trees, in the shimmer of water, in the sudden bright wing of a dragonfly.

Waiting for us to notice.

✨Blessing✨
May you be surprised by beauty today.
May something small and unexpected catch your attention.
May wonder find you in the middle of ordinary things,
and may you pause long enough to receive it.
