There are three different types of dreams. Throughout the process of awakening the subconscious is healing and releasing the past. You might consider keeping a dream journal near the bed and if you wake in the night, take note of the time and write down what you can.
If you split your sleep time into thirds, dreams during the first few hours don’t have any special meaning and are typically impacted by what you were thinking, reading or watching just prior to sleep.
Dreams in the middle third of the night are called precognitive dreams. The subconscious is working with all the bits of data it has gathered and is telling you what’s likely to happen. More often than not, they are accurate and very worth noting for review.
And finally, dreams in the hours just prior to waking are called venting dreams. The subconscious is releasing fear, emotions, memories or blockages. So, if you have an early morning dream that is especially vivid, flip it and interpret from that point of view. For instance, you dream about reuniting with an old lover. This means that you are releasing energy around that person or karma. The subconscious is signalling that you will not reunite and dropping that belief/desire/fear to make room for something new.
