For many, that which is hardest to face is the very thing asking for our attention. Resistance can be an indicator that true transformation is at hand; therefore, the ego may devise myriad ways to turn our attention elsewhere.
When consciously seeking to accelerate your awakening, notice what you tend to shy away from. It may be old trauma or beliefs, patterns or imprints, habits or addictions. Each can provide a passageway to greater strength and empowerment, yet the way out is through.
We must be willing to turn toward our challenges, take ownership, and shine the light of consciousness upon them. There is no blame here, simply observation. When you see with a clear mind and open heart, change begins. As it has been said, “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” Let that phrase excite your spirit. When we walk through fear consciously, it begins to lose its hold.
Using visualization, you might choose to see the challenge as dense, murky energy. Turn toward it and take one step forward. Imagine light emanating from your hands and heart, gently breaking up the darkness. You may even see it transform into sparkles of light that dance with joy as they disperse.
This is a simple way of pouring love into the area of your experience that requires it most. Rather than fighting what is present, you bring consciousness to it, changing the foundational energy that informs and sustains the situation. What has been held in place begins to soften, shift, and release.
Keep in mind that the ego often becomes more active when you are on the verge of a breakthrough. Much like the bluster of the Wizard of Oz, its bravado begins to shrink when met with courage, awareness, and integrity. Fear holds energy in place; love sets it free.
So when resistance appears, perhaps greet it with curiosity rather than dread. It may be pointing directly toward the doorway you have been readying yourself to walk through. The thing that once frightened you may eventually reveal itself as the place where your power was waiting to be reclaimed.
