One of the more difficult lessons of awakening is learning that love does not always require intervention.
We can see someone we care about making choices that appear certain to bring heartache, confusion, or struggle, and every instinct may urge us to step in, explain, rescue, or steer them toward what we believe would be a better road. Yet we rarely know the deeper architecture of another person’s journey. The experience we would gladly spare them may contain the very insight, courage, healing, or awakening their soul has come to discover.
There are lessons that cannot be handed from one person to another. Wisdom earned through experience carries a different weight than wisdom offered in advance, no matter how lovingly it is given. When we continually solve another person’s difficulties, we may unintentionally interrupt the moment when they discover their own strength, discernment, or relationship with Spirit.
Our work, then, is often quieter. We tend our own lives. We continue healing what belongs to us, choosing peace where we once chose reaction, speaking truth with kindness, and becoming more fully the person we came here to be. In doing so, we offer something far more powerful than advice: a living example of what is possible.
And then, one day, someone we love may tell us about an insight they have reached through a path entirely different from our own. We listen and smile, recognizing the familiar truth beneath their words.
There are countless roads into wholeness.
