Sometimes we have to experience who we aren’t in order to discover who we are.
Many of us explore several pathways before finding the purpose or passion that feels wholly our own. Dreams may fall apart, plans may lose their meaning, and the ego may begin weaving stories of failure, wasted time, or opportunities lost.
Yet I see every exploration as an invitation to discover what brings us alive. Experiences of frustration or futility often awaken a deeper desire to live in integrity, even when that choice may disappoint a parent, a mentor, or the earlier version of ourselves who once believed we were meant to follow a different road.
When that discovery is made, a whole new world opens. The weight of expectation is released, and we begin to experience the joy of living in alignment with our truest nature. The energy once spent trying to fulfill an inherited vision becomes available for creation, purpose, and the full expression of who we came here to be.
This is often how karmic contracts and self-karma unfold. The pendulum swings from one extreme to another until wisdom reveals the center. Every role we played, every direction we followed, and every dream we outgrew becomes part of the understanding that guides us home.
The collective experiences of that phase of the journey become facets within us, shining with the light of a thousand suns as we expand into a deeper truth of who we are.
