When you are ready to embark upon an epic journey, call upon the spirit of hummingbird for assistance.

Every year, ruby-throated hummingbirds migrate over the Atlantic from Brazil to Canada. These tiny little birds wouldn’t appear at first to have the energy or stamina to journey over 2500 miles; however, they are able to draw energy from the sweetness of life. This instinctual movement represents joyful courage in the shamanic traditions.

When you are faced with daunting circumstances or don’t know how you will accomplish that which seems impossible, call upon the energy of Hummingbird. Let her teach you how to drink the nectar of life, to be fiercely independent, a hard worker and a playful expression of the Divine.

Hummingbird is linked to the 3rd Eye Chakra and awakens soul perception. With spiritual insight we learn to recognize the deeper meaning behind our relationships and experiences. Everything becomes an expression of the sacred.

Dream a New World into Being

Courageousness is not about being fearless. It is the ability to move forward and take conscious action in spite of any fear that may arise.

No matter what you wish to create in your experience, all transformation begins within. Visualize opening to the vast potential that exists within you and all around you rather than expecting, and therefore receiving, repetitive limiting circumstances. At first, the mind may balk with it’s “Nothing’s ever going to change” mantra; however, consistent intention always sets new energy in motion.

You can dream a new world into being. See yourself as an artist who utilizes divine inspiration in order to guide new visions into life. Forgiveness, gratitude, positive expectations, joyful enthusiasm and willingness demonstrate unwavering commitment to creating new experiences. Each approach, practiced consistently, releases old patterns and resentments and sets you free from past perceived limitations.

All of existence conspires to assist in your spiritual awakening and love rains down upon you from multiple dimensions. Open to receive the new through willingness, imagination and sprinkling a little magic throughout your life.

We are connected to the Earth and she is connected to us – this connection is a reflection of our relationship to the Self. Everything has something to teach when we are willing to listen. The lessons of nature show where we are on the path of awakening at the time of the encounter.

When you slow down and observe, you’ll discover that the world around you is the gateway to greater understanding. Allow life to be your teacher and companion and honor your inner child by choosing to walk in the magical realm of infinite possibility.

Animals, insects and plants that appear often in your experience may be your Nature totems. Learn all that you can about them – their attributes, habits and role in the tapestry of life – and pay attention to messages they have for you.

As you cultivate a reverence for the sacredness of all you see, you’ll create greater empowerment in your own journey. A totem is any object or animal with whom you feel a deep connection. It will choose you and awaken your heart. Every message is unique.

Live Your Passion

Observe nature. Witness how everything plays a specific role in its evolving ecosystem, no matter how obvious or insignificant it appears. Often, the smallest creatures do the most important work.

The world needs you to be yourself. For some this comes effortlessly, while others actively search in order to discover their true potential. Be led by love, live your passions, seek joy in the present moment and you will not be led astray.

The people you have drawn into your life seek your true spirit to shine through. The awakening of human consciousness is happening now and you have chosen to be here for a purpose. You may feel called to physically participate using your unique insight and talents. You may be a healer of mind, body or spirit, or you may be a frequency holder who keeps the energetic vibration in a situation as high as possible. You’ll recognize your path by the degree of peacefulness you feel upon it.

When you live according to your purpose, life takes on greater meaning.

Leaping Forward

Yesterday as I sat outside in the sunshine eating mindfully, as is my wont, the grasshopper above flew into my head. Laughing, I thanked her for getting my attention in such a distinctive manner and went inside to look up the shamanic meaning in my books. Grasshopper represents taking new and uncanny leaps forward.
From this I inferred that changes are getting ready to flow into my world and that it’s healthy for me to take leaps of faith, try new things and see where the journey takes me. Another message here is to trust my inner voice and the unique rhythms of my life. After delivering her message and gracing me with a photo, she quickly moved on.
I see the magic of life as a continuous conversation with the divine. When you pay attention, little mundane moments can become quite extraordinary. Everything we experience is a loving message from spirit … and I am grateful.
