Embracing Change

Change brings us to the edge of limitless possibility.

“Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

In those precious moments when we stand on the threshold between the known and the unknown, we often consciously recognize that something has been completed in our lives. Whether the change comes through work, relationships, inner growth, the home or an aspect of ego-identity, it is time to let go. Whenever we choose to surrender and release, it creates the space in which something new can be experienced. Something greater awaits and new levels are ready to be explored. Sadness ensues only when we cling to those things that no longer serve our growth, thus blocking our advancement forward on the Path of Transformation.

See these changes as part of your liberation. All drama arises when we fight what is. In acceptance, we become one with the Divine and walk forward in faith. Part of the human experience is to fear the unknown – the ego may say, “I’m scared” or “What if I get hurt?” Remember that you have already successfully walked into the unknown many times while experiencing the rites of passage as your journeyed from infancy to adulthood. In spire of the ego’s story that change is hard or something to fear, you are a master in the process of awakening and already quite skilled in navigating through the new experiences of your life.

Honor the Process

Walk the path of awakening with the knowledge that you are loved, supported and guided every step of the way.

“Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.”
~John O’Donohue~

There are treasures waiting to be discovered. The spiritual journey is not about playing it safe – it beckons us to explore the vast nuances of life. Typically, unexpected triggers prompt us to speak from the heart or give voice to our fears or frustrations. Challenges and blockages pivot us until we’re willing to try something new.

When life presents opportunity disguised as loss, you may witness your courage emerge with each step onto new ground. Trust the processes of your awakening. As humans, we struggle to see clearly; however, the higher self will always guide you through the lessons required in order to awaken new perception and insight. This can only come through conscious experience.

Welcome this brand new day with a sense of wonder. We begin the journey without a map and gradually learn to decipher the limitless possibilities that emerge. Be true to yourself. Weave your passions and talents into your unique expression of life. Allow change, and know that you are right where you need to be.

The Joy of Giving

Let the song of your heart find it’s way into your words and actions.

“Awareness must be like the rays of the sun:
extending everywhere, illuminating all.”
~B.K.S. Lyengar~

The vibrancy and mystery of love wishes to make itself known. Ultimately, awareness opens us to become conduits for the light, love and laughter of the Divine. Through you, something unique desires to flow into the world.

When you need to seek peace within the turbulence of your life, begin with the illumination of your heart. Let empathy and compassion create a foundation which informs your choices, interpretations and actions.

We all participate in this dance of awakening. When you discover what moves your soul, bring more of it into your experience. Let your life be your practice and watch in wonder as your light transforms all that it shines upon.

Anam Cara (Soul Friend)

Friendship calls upon us to listen compassionately to the silences between us.

“The one you love, your anam cara, your soul friend, is the truest mirror to reflect your soul. The honesty and clarity of true friendship also brings out the real contour of your spirit. It is beautiful to have such a presence in your life.”
~John O’Donohue~

Our purpose is to learn how to give and receive love. That can only be discovered through the removal of any barriers against love that we have built. As we cultivate independence and self-confidence, we can interact with one another without fear. This freedom allows us to discover who we are in the presence of another.

Most of us have a group of 30-40 souls with whom we incarnate throughout our multiple lifetimes. This soul group works together in various forms, utilizing lessons, drama and unwavering support to help one another evolve. Over time, these beautiful souls demonstrate a seasoned love and steadfastness that can lift us to new heights – even in the midst of our challenges.

Give space to those you love. When your souls meet, consciously bring a gentle recognition to the beauty of the depth of love you have for one another. Your interactions will ultimately awaken a sense of safety, authenticity and support.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is releasing your attachment to resentment.

“Looked at from a spiritual standpoint, our discomfort in any given situation provides a signal that we are out of alignment with spiritual law and are being given an opportunity to heal something.”
~Colin Tipping~

As long as there is one person whom you can’t forgive, there is still work to be done. Every circumstance in our experience has meaning and purpose. The small injustices, the betrayals and lingering disappointments all point to aspects of ourselves that need to be cleared in order for us to be free.

Those who challenge you the most on the physical plane love you the most on a soul level. They are willing to risk losing your love and your goodwill to assist you in the most profound ways. Healing requires that we become consciously aware of our wounds. What better way than to generate an emotional upset that temporarily clouds your mind and your experience of joy? It grabs your attention and takes over.

The moment you recognize that you are behaving in a unconscious manner, you become more conscious. Now you have the ability to shift your thoughts and attention toward balance and healing. Bless the challenges of your life for they take you places you would never dare to walk on your own and ultimately lead you to mastery, insight and a deeper experience of love.

What You Fight, You Strengthen

You have the ability to create powerful changes in your experience.

“When stuck in apathy, procrastination, or the morass of depression, choose one small task and complete it mindfully. Momentum will follow.”
~Ezra Bayda~

Sometimes the changes we seek to create in the world (and within ourselves) seem daunting or overwhelming. Discomfort arises when we begin to realize that something needs to shift and, of course, the ego-mind immediately jumps in with momentum to stop dialogue.

Bring your focus to the end result and celebrate the fact that if you can visualize it with passion, you can draw in what you wish. Rather than fighting what you perceive as “wrong”, purposefully feed your energy into what inspires you as you create positive changes.

Most people do not realize how powerful they are. Making even one small positive change can shift the momentum of your life. Set an intention and speak it out loud in the present tense as you set the tone for the day. Then support your intention by ensuring that your thoughts, words and actions are all in alignment. And finally, be willing to receive with the knowledge that you are a powerful co-creator of your experience.

Creating Sacred Space

In this fast-paced, intense world, everyone needs a sacred space to re-balance, recharge and be at peace.

“Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again.”
~Joseph Campbell~

Everything is energy and we are significantly impacted by the frequencies that surround us. It’s important to ensure that your home is set up in a way that allows you to feel more deeply connected to your true, authentic nature. This looks different for everyone, of course, and that’s the beauty of discovery!  Does everything around you touch your heart in some way?

It’s also important to create a specific space in which to meditate, pray or move into stillness. Keep this space dedicated for mindful activity so that the energy is always ready to help when you need to release the stress of an intense day. The more consistently you use this space, the more it becomes filled with the light of consciousness.

This is immensely helpful when there are many people sharing the home. When you are at peace, you have more kindness, patience and compassion to share with others.

Wisdom

There is always something new to discover.

“Embrace the wisdom of uncertainty.”
~Deepak Chopra~

A vibrant life is one that is filled with adventures of experience and discovery. Every situation we encounter has multiple layers of information that continue to provide insight as we move forward on the path of awakening. See the obstacles and challenges you encounter as stepping stones to an evolving, empowered version of yourself.

We learn through contrast, ultimately finding that everything has something of value to teach. Experiences are interpreted through the filters created by our level of consciousness; therefore, as you awaken, understand that your interpretations will transform as well. Breakthroughs occur when we learn to be comfortable with the unknown.

You are a work in progress. Integrate the lessons, be willing to expand your perceptions and welcome the changes that prompt you to go beyond outmoded ideas and perceived limitation. Bless all that you’ve learned. Appreciate those who have walked this journey with you, and most importantly, honor your path as sacred by living with an open heart.

Silence

Listen.

“Love said to me, there is nothing that is not me. Be silent.”
~Rumi~

Many people experience great stress in their lives. This is often due to the lack of moments of solitude and reflection. In our busy world, we are constantly inundated with sounds and images that keep the mind active. Contemplative silence is a necessary and empowering practice.

All of life has secrets to share. In stillness, mysteries can make themselves known. Insight combines with inner wisdom to inspire words of compassion, healing and light. Demonstrate your loving nature by approaching your interactions from a place of mindfulness. Let your words uplift and inspire.

Consistent moments of Presence will awaken conscious awareness throughout your daily journey of discovery. Your peaceful approach will transform communication from banalities into authentic exploration. This is what cultivates and strengthens the friendships of the soul.

Lucid Living

You are the dreamer and life is the dream.

“To awaken within the dream is our purpose now. When we are awake within the dream, the ego-created earth-drama comes to an end and a more benign and wondrous dream arises. This is the new earth.”
~Eckhart Tolle~

Lucid dreaming is a term that means to be conscious of the fact that you are dreaming while still in the midst of the dream. As we awaken spiritually, we discover that life itself is a dream and learn to see beyond the illusion to the truths of our purpose here.

To be spiritually aware in the midst of illusion could be called Lucid Living. This means that we are no longer identified with the things of this world. Seek to bring a balance of your spirituality to your physical expression of life by being in the world but not of it.

Some spiritual seekers withdraw completely from life, shunning the trappings of unconsciousness: money, prestige, tangible items and the like; however, as we awaken the ego becomes more subtle. These same people can tend to develop a new ego-identity: one of “the enlightened one.” They may see themselves as “more evolved” than those around them which involves judgment.

The key is to function well in the world, to enjoy and even love the things of this earth without attachment, to be immersed in the present moment as an awakening soul while walking consciously in the midst of our physical playground.

We are in the process of discovering a peacefulness that transcends the human experience.
