The Wise Heart

Be at ease. Choose to be a lifetime student of love.

“The willingness to simply rest in the physical experience of your life is the key to spiritual transformation.”
~Ezra Bayda~

You are perfect in your imperfection, a master in the process of awakening. Know that you are right where you need to be and all will be revealed in the perfect way at the perfect time. Cultivate the art of being at ease in the face of the unknown, for is a powerful aspect of your spiritual growth.

When faced with a challenge that seems overwhelming, mention it during your gratitude walk. One way to honor the process of your awakening is to acknowledge that you are grateful for the challenge (even while it is still in process) and willing to accept the gift or wisdom it will ultimately bring into your life experience.

Your willingness to be open accelerates your growth. Anything can be transformed from frustration into empowerment. Everything you experience plays a significant role in your spiritual transformation.

Peace, Happiness and Love

All that you seek is within you.

“The discovery that peace, happiness and love are ever-present within our own Being, and completely available at every moment of experience, under all conditions, is the most important discovery that anyone could make.”
~Rupert Spira~

Be gentle with yourself and with those who grace your life. No matter what unfolds, choose to experience it as if you had specifically written it into the script of your experience. Empowerment comes through taking ownership for all that we encounter with the knowledge that every circumstance has something to teach. Ultimately we can discover how to engage life’s magic and weave it throughout our interactions with one another.

Peace, happiness and love are within you. Let yourself be inspired. Each time you respond to beauty, remind yourself that is it a reflection of your inner state of consciousness. When fully present and open, life takes on a multi-dimensional quality. We live in a paradox of simultaneous realities and perceptions. You may choose to interpret the world around you in any way that you wish. One suggestion is to do so in a way that is enriching and fulfilling and brings out the best in you.

Present Moment Attention

The spiritual journey is an immersive experience.

To live in the present moment is a miracle. The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green Earth in the present moment, to appreciate the peace and beauty that are available now.”
~Thich Nhat Hanh~

Life is providing an incredible opportunity to practice being fully aligned with the Now in a more powerful way than ever before. What can you experience differently? Rather than seeking distraction, choose instead to go deeper into the present moment. Place your focus upon something around you and observe what you discover, or utilize mindfulness to experience all the nuances that are normally overlooked during mundane daily activity. This attention transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.

We can cultivate new habits, perfect them and bring them with us as foundational behavior when life’s momentum increases once again. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have such a life-changing experience that we break free from old patterns, conduct and mindsets that no longer serve our collective growth?

Your awareness and love sends waves of energy throughout the world. Together, we can be part of a conscious and empowered shift into a healthy balance of mind, body and spirit. This is the moment of transformation.

The Power of Presence

Now is the time to discover new ways of being.

Live each moment completely and the future will take care of itself. Fully enjoy the beauty and wonder of each instant. Practice the presence of peace. The more you do that, the more you will feel the power of that presence in your life.”
~Paramahansa Yogananda~

You have an opportunity to bring a powerful sense of peace and well-being to this moment. Your thoughts create your reality – what are you choosing to create right now? Life presents opportunities to respond to darkness with light, to show kindness to those who seem to reject it the most and to experience the infinite Presence of Now.

No matter how you choose to connect to the Divine, do it consistently. Let your life be a walking meditation knowing that awareness is your true nature. As you drop old patterns and limiting beliefs, you are left only with the infinite mystery of your own being.

There is something beautiful to be discovered within each nuance of your life situation. Ultimately, you create your own experiences, have your own insights and live a unique journey. From this space of connectedness, simply choose to live more openly from the heart.

The Art of Friendship

Friendship is the highest form of love.

A friend is someone who inspires, who challenges, who sends you in search of your truer sense of yourself.”
~Steve Lopez~

Friendship, when integrated with consciousness, becomes a way of being. Rather than relating through possessiveness or a closeness shared with a select few, we discover how to become friends with life itself. This friendliness increases as it is given.

There is a sacredness in sharing your joy and loving kindness without expectation. It becomes a dance between souls, and ultimately we feel only gratitude for those who are willing to accept the love we have to give.

Choose to befriend all of existence. Allow the art of friendship to create an energetic field of peacefulness around you. Your presence is a blessing. Whether near or far, nothing diminishes the light of your beautiful spirit and the impact you have on those you love.

Finding Your Balance

Each of us is responsible for our own joy.

The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird sleeps in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities…”
~James Allen~

It’s a wonderful time to reexamine what brings you balance. Mastery is finding your unique way of being in the world. When your thoughts, words and actions are aligned, you will see a flow of grace throughout your experience.

The key is honest, ruthless observation. Notice how you interpret the present moment. When you choose to be a conduit for the Divine, nothing specific needs to be expressed or forced because the light of your consciousness impacts the world around you in wonderful ways.

You are awareness. Be the loving witness to whatever unfolds. This practice allows you an opportunity to see clearly and be responsive rather than reactive. Nothing is more important than your joy. Make your practice one of healthy, empowered detachment.

Contrast and Duality

Dramatic transformation is always preceded by chaos.

“Experience life in all possible ways – good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light, summer-winter. Experience all the dualities. Don’t be afraid of experience, because the more experience you have, the more mature you become.”
~Osho~

Awareness is the first step of transformation. Begin with acceptance of what is in the present moment. Nurture your awareness. Slow down and truly experience whatever life has to offer. There is sacredness and delight to be found within these opportunities to rise above.

Giving and friendship are the greatest expressions of love. While the ego operates from a place of fear, poverty consciousness or lack, the light within your soul knows beyond question that your greatest contributions to the world come from a place of compassion and kindness.

The darkness and light of our collective experience teach us that contrast is absolutely required in order for growth to occur. Many forms of life absorb nutrients from deep within the earth and ultimately emerge into the sunlight when ready to receive it’s gifts. The shadows of the unknown give our experiences texture and form until we too are ready to receive the gifts that the Divine has to offer.

The Bird’s Way

Collectively, we are being given an opportunity to create pivotal changes in the way we live, think, work, love and dream….

“The way of meditation is a long arduous path while The Bird’s Way is a clear direct path of Self-investigation, Self-exploration, and using thought or concepts as an aid to understanding and Self-Realization. Sometimes this approach is also called the Reverse Path. What Reverse Path indicates is the turning around of one’s attention away from objectivity to the more subjective sense of one’s Beingness.
~Sri Samartha Siddharameshwar Maharaj~

To utilize The Bird’s Way, begin with sound to create a harmonious atmosphere around you. This can be a chant, mantra or tone that soothes the soul. For several minutes, simply immerse yourself in this moment of transformation. If there are other sounds in the home, choose to allow them to fade into background noise and place all your attention on the tool you are using to create a moment of peace.

From this place of subtlety, imagine yourself rising above to view life as a bird does. Feel the warmth of the sun, enjoy the gentle breezes that allow you soar above, enter the silence and stillness of a beautiful sky… appreciate your freedom. Visualize all of life entering this beautiful moment with you.

As an awakening soul, you have the tools to transform any experience into one that brings incredible depth, insight and peace. Each of us can navigate the paradox of the human and spiritual realms and discover the delicate balance required to act as a bridge between the mundane and the Divine. Be the change you wish to see.

To Bless the Space Between Us

Be willing to explore new ways of being.

“Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.”
~John O’Donohue~

Take some time to step into the gap. Explore the space between breaths, lose yourself in the stillness between musical notes or appreciate the way the earth seems to pause just before sunrise. These are the moments of transformation. They allow us to bring mindful presence into the present moment.

Collectively, we are engaged in a shift of consciousness. Through disruption and change we have an opportunity to break free of limiting patterns that no longer serve us. Rather than getting caught in the egoic idea of lack, choose to see the abundance that surrounds you. This is a perfect time to simplify. Honor the space between us, for within it lies the seeds of new beginnings.

Enter into the wonder of your heart. We stand at the threshold of a new life, and knowing that all things work toward the highest good for all involved, we can choose to embrace the serenity of stillness that is ready to awaken the soul.

Childlike Innocence

Now is the time to rediscover the magic of life.

“Enlightenment only grows in the soil of innocence. Innocence means childlike wonder, awe. The enlightened person is the one who is continuously wondering.”
~Osho~
For many, the joy of discovery is a forgotten language. They approach life with a seriousness that blocks the possibility of appreciating the wonders that are all around them. The filters of adulthood preclude the experience of wonderment and they look upon those who dance with delight as fools.
Yet, the fool is closer to enlightenment. Fully present, she brings a playful curiosity to her experiences. She sees the sacredness in the trees, animals and the earth and plays with sparks of Divine energy.
Unlearn some of your seriousness. Spiritual awakening is finding the innocence of your true nature which lies hidden under layers and layers of conditioning and the weight of expectations.
A mind that is receptive, playful and relaxed is a mind that is open to inspiration and insight. Don’t try so hard – all you need to know is within you and it will make itself known when you are ready to receive. Set an intention to embrace life’s magic by being playful and open.
